Why not an option of programable turn-on temp. of MMM
 

I know it will be automatically turned on when temp hits 150 F.
However, I like it be always on or lower turn-on temp.
It is not a bad thing that the cooler the better for the esc, right?
I've not seen anyone talk about this issue. Maybe, this is trivial.

i don't think it is much of an issue but i can see where you are coming from.
i don't think the option will be available because as far as i know the brain board does not support an adjustable value for the ESC thermosistor.

I would think the temp could be changed via software. A thermistor just changes in resistance as temp changes, so you could set the fan to trigger at any resistance (really it would be the voltage drop across the thermistor being measured). I don't think CC would want to do that though. They've probably spent plenty of time researching and deciding that 150F is a good temp for the fan to turn on. Some people would have the fan turn on at lower temp, and that would be no problem. But some people would set the fan to turn on at higher temps or not at all, and that would make a bunch of warranty issues and headaches for CC.

How about options of always-on and variable turn-on temp at upper limit 150F.
One thing occurs to me that it may be for the longevity of the fan not to release the access.
The fan is the most shock resistant in the condition of 0 rpm.

That last part is true, though my MMMv1 has been going strong since day 1, and I've done everything in my power to try and kill it; stuff it full of grass and stall the fan (repeatedly), split the case open, splash it through muddy puddles (accidently, I would never get my esc or truck wet deliberately0, yet the fan has never given me any issues.

The v1 MMM has the fan that runs constantly as soon as you turn the esc on- I'll sell it to you for.... $800.... :whistle:

I wouldn't even mess with it if I were Castle. The more options you give a customer the more chance they (the customer) have to screw it up.

Honestly one of the first things I do is remove the fan from the MMM. I also remove the on/off switch. I've never had a V3 fail on me after doing this, and I've never had it get over 145, even during races. I'm not recommending that people do this, just stating my experience.

Another thought. Why not MMM esc comes with two different package: Ordinary fanned and non-fanned esc with larger uncovered heatsink. Motors could have two type like Neu. Why not different packages of esc for different flavors.

eg. the castle ICE 160:yipi:
if they release it with MMM firmware...
