Good bashing tire for truggies?
I'm looking to get some different shoes for my Caster F8T. I almost always bash and rarely run on tracks. The stock tires on the F8T seem like "crimefighter" clones or similar. I want something with more of a lug-type pattern for off-road and short grass, maybe even some pavement running.
What would be some good suggestions to check out? |
Proline Badlands are pretty popular
|
The badlands are great off road, but mine aer terrible for the street. Hit the brakes and its more likely to go sliding than stop. I always like the mashers for all around tire. Prolly still my fav if you are drving off road and on and only want one tire set.

Now are these MT size tires that need different wheels, or can they be stretched a bit to fit on standard truggy wheels? I'd prefer to keep stock truggy wheels if possible.
I assume the main issue is that buggies/truggies are generally racing vehicles, so there's not really a market for off-road bashing tires for standard truggy wheels. |
standard truggy wheel is the same as standard MT wheel - 3.2"
however lately most truggies come with LPR style rims that are 3.8" |
Yes, the Badlands are a POPULAR choice to be stretched over a set of JConcepts Rulux Half-ups.

Badlands ftw.

If a lot of jumping is one of the goals more sidewall is beneficial.
|
The stock Caster F8T wheels are the 3.8" size, and I'd like to keep using those. Sounds like the Badlands stretched to 3.8" will be the way to go. Thanks guys!

Will not be possible to stretch a 3.2" tire over a 3.8" rim//Thats like trying to put a 15" car tire on a 17" rim..Just not possible..
I found that HPI dirtclaws is also very good for bashing and good on just about anything you run it on..Sidewall not that high so still handle okay compared to racing tires.. On my truggy i'm using HPI dirtbones just because its so light weight and have nice sidewall for jumping and bashing. We play on grass most of the time and they work super on grass and hard pack dirt. |
