Pinion help..Modify clutch bell to work?

I stripped my 13T pinion and now nobody in South Africa have stock..I know this sucks..SO is there any way to maybe modify a clutch bell to work or something? All my other off roads not running so need to get the truggy up and running before the weekend.

Let me know if possible.I have a lathe to make a adapter or whatever is needed..

It's me again:lol:. Yes there is . I used to have a modified mugen cluch bell pinion before hardend pinions were avalible. Mine was made by a member here named griffin . From what he told me there was a little bit of work involved in making one . First he has to cut the gear of the clutch bell . which can be tough because of the hardened clutch bell . Then he maid a stainless steel adapter . He then pressed them together with some type of industrial adhesive . It would be cheaper to just buy a hardened pinion.

Haha only you replying to my threads..lol Thanks!

Mm I would buy one if they had stock. And they can't tell me when that will be.So need to make one till the stock comes in.Or import a few..

I will see what I can do tomorrow.Have a few clutch bells here I can butcher..lol

If you have acces to a machine shop or a lathe. Bore a 5mm Hole through an aluminum blank- then turn it down to fit into the CLutch bell. set it with 2 part epoxy or high strength glue- CA might work?]]

Then just make the adapter to stickout of the Clutch bell so you can put a set screw on it

Mmmm might work..But with the extra size wont it hurt spool up time on the motor?Like hurt acceleration?

Mike has them in stock i belive, or you can Try seeing if one of our europen members has one they can send you . If your going to use a CB. Make sure you use a hardenend one or your just wasting your time . Ther way ben is describing is the way they were made . But griffin used STAINLESS stell instead of aluminum . Just make the hub bug enough so you get good bite from the set screw .

I might end up buy from here if the local shops take to long to get stock..

But will see what I can do just to get up and running.I have hardened 14t bell I can cut..Will get on the lathe tomorrow and see what I can cook up!

I remember griffin telling me he had to use a big press to get the SS insert into the CB gear .
