Kyosho Plastic Spurs

I have been using Kyosho plastic spurs on my 8ight-T and I cannot get them to stop leaking through the seal. I was wondering if anyone else has this issue and if it could be solved by going back to a steel spur? Or do diffs just always leak?

Do you have a gasket between the diff and spur?

Leaking from the gasket or o-ring? The losi cups are a bit of a tight fit, and may not be pulling together all the way. I chuck the cup in a drill and run it on some sandpaper to reduce the O.D. slightly.

Yes, I am running a gasket. I have rebuilt the diff numerous times but it always leaks. I even got a new HD diff cup but that didnt help either. It is leaking from the big gasket. Would putting some green slime on the gasket help?

I never thought of that. I guess that could be whats happening.

what the pro's do to insure there diff's dont leak is as follows . They take some 150 or finner grit sand paper . Lay it on a flat surface. Then they take the diff cup & with the gear side or ( open side ) down . Then they use figure 8 motions to level out the surface of the diff cup & get rid of any high spots. Then some times they also use 2 seals .

Thank you all for your opinions. I'll give it another try after some modifications and see what happens.

If all else fails, you could try the Losi plastic spur. It has a metal center section.
