Charging ?
Does it hurt a lipo to charge it if it does not hit the lvc cut off.
Not at all, lithium batts have no memory effect like old nicads or nimhs even. :)
It's better for the lipo if you don't hit the lvc every time. Apparently it can shorten their life if you consistently discharge more than 80% of the pack.
I am running a eight-t with a mmm 2.5d nue and a hyperion vx 5c 6500 batt and i can seem to hit lvc i go for close to thirty min and its still strong. This thing is wicked out of the hole.
Me again.
Will i know when it hits the lvc does it slow or what.
It will stop, the lvc will cut the power to the motor. You will notice slight loss of power before you hit the lvc, I am used to this and stop when I notice this, usually only get another 30sec before the lvc kicks in.
80% depth of discharge (DOD) is about the best place to stop to get max life. Most airplane guys set timers to accomplish this, after a little testing, of course. |
Yes, the less you discharge your pack, the life of them increases exponentially. I usually only discharge my packs 60%DOD myself, as I don't like running for more than 15 mins at a time anyways, which is very good for the packs, they will love you back with exceptional cycle and calender life.
