UBEC needed on 14 cells?

Hey guys,
I've been running 14 cells on my 9918/9L with the Mod1 Set Up - should I be running UBEC? I saw somewhere that if you have more than 12 it is nescessary..

i have heard a lot of guys say that you should run a UBEC on anything over 12 cells but i also remember hearing somewhere that it can handle up to 14 cells without a UBEC. In short i would like to know the real answer.

While it may not have burned out (yet), it would not hurt to use a UBEC. I've read that the max. you should use is 12 cells, and this has to do with the heat that the regulator chip has to dissiapate (more voltage = more heat).

I have tried the bec in a bk on 16 cells before. It works for a little while. If you run only one servo it will last longer to. I think the ubec is the way to go. Seemed to make the truck run better when put it on there.
