Can a tekin 8T motor burn a esc?

I just burn a hobbying 150 amp esc becoz one of the motor wire came out.

I think it kill 1 cell too.

Is this supposed to happen? I ran neu n medusa when the wire came out the car just stop. But this time i ran sensored & the esc burnt.

So is it safer to run unsensored motor?

You mean one of the 3 main motor wires unplugged? Yeah that would kill any esc if you keep hitting the throttle after it happens. Sensored or not. When the truck starts jerking back and forth wildly that should be a sign that something is wrong.... :mdr: Did this happen after a crash? I'm thinking your motor leads are not long enough and so they got pulled out from the stress. Or, possibly the connectors are worn out.

The motor wire came out but the car was not jerking or anything. What happened was we were cooling the car, when I plug in the batt n throttle the esc burnt.

When I used medusa when my wire came out the car just stop no burn esc.

So the wire was out when you plugged the battery in, you didn't notice it, and it fried when you gave it a little throttle? That makes sense then- the motor was probably acting like a short circuit with only one phase getting power. Sounds like an easy mistake. The Medusa was not sensored. In this case the T8 motor is sensored and so the sensor wire kept telling the ESC to send power when throttle was applied.

Is it better if I run it unsensored then?

Well thats up to your own preference. Which feels better to you? The problem you had was not due to it being sensored or unsensored. Just double check all the connections before you run (a good idea anyways) and you'll be fine unless there really is a problem...

Sounds like you had an esc failure, bottom line. You can run the T8 either sensored or sensorless. The RX8 runs them in dual mode which is optimal.

I had a motor wire (not Tekin) come out on one of my MMM systems and everything was fine. Well, the external BEC fried taking out my Rx and servo, but the ESC and motor survived. Could be something in the HW firmware not liking that.
