Wheelie bar for 8T?
Wondering if anyone knows of a wheelie bar that is compatible with truggies, specifically the 8T?
|
sure it is called throttle control. Lol i dont know of any out there. Maybe try ebay as they have wierd listing there.
|
IMO, you shouldn't ever need a wheelie bar with an 8T, the CoG is simply too low, along with the center diff preventing it as well.

Not true. My cen matrix truggy on 4-6s wheelied on dirt with the MM 2200kv combo.
with 10k in the CD |
yes very true my rc8 buggy will wheelie for about 150 feet. Easy and that is on 4s even on 3s the buggy will wheelie. As for it being a truggy more tire to get it up in the air. Honestly the best thing to do is to have more throttle control. You dont need to floor it off the line.
It hurts your shafts diffs etc. Use mild throttle coming off the line and you will be just fine. |
Or just get stronger diffs shafts etc... :)

I know I could use more disciplined throttle control, but I think it will look sweet as well while preventing my wing getting messed up and putting more power to the ground. I do mostly onroad bashing, and if I didn't have a wing I could probably do a standstill backflip and probably even at 20-40mph with 5s. I'm currently working with a guy from mdfrcwheeliebars.com right now to customize one for the 8T. I'll keep progress posted.

Well that is what I mean, as long as you don't floor it off the line and then just a nice gently WOT pull, it should be fine... and easier on your diffs vs. if you had a wheelie bar.

Ill sell you an aluminum wing mount and you can make some custom wheels to attach to it.. that would honestly be your best bet iMO.
|
I've never been a fan of the wheelie bar. The closest I ever got was a flat piece of CF attached directly to the chassis...no moving parts, all sacrificial! l still have the piece & it would last another thousand wheelies without issue
You could add a plane wheel or similar for on-road speed runs (which is what I was thinking for my own T, except I will use a solid rubber, alloy hub wheel) |
Ya my wheelie bar is my wing.....works great and cheap to replace!!:yipi:
