I really don't see the point and how these will really sell. With the BL revo so close in price I mean really why buy the maxx?

nitrostarter 10.15.2009 01:17 PM

Originality.

Meaning keeping the ORIGINAL EMAXX alive but with modern amenities.

I know they have updated their designs in a while, I wish they would, but they are still selling cars/trucks like crazy. :gasp:

RCShocker 10.15.2009 01:48 PM

From the YouTube vid it looks like a "Wheely Maxx".

I personally prefer a Maxx over a Revo any day.

Krawlin 10.15.2009 01:57 PM

Let me fix that list for you Ben....

Revo 2.5, 3 different Revo 3.3's, Revo Platinum, 2 E-Revo's, Summit (which is an E-Revo based truck), Slayer (which is a Revo based truck) - Total Revo's - 9 Revo's.

T-Maxx Pro15, 2.5, 2.5r, two 3.3's, S-Maxx, 3906 E-Maxx (narrow version), 3906 E-Maxx (wide-maxx version), 3905 E-Maxx, and now the 3908 Brushless Edition E-Maxx - Total Maxxes - 10 Maxx's.

Stampede, Stampede XL1, Stampede XL5, Stampede XL5 waterproof, Stampede VXL, and I am pretty sure they now have a Stampede VXL waterproof - 6 Stampedes

Rustler, Rustler XL1, Rustler XL5, Rustler XL5 waterproof, Rustler VXL, Rustler VXL waterproof - 6 Rustlers

Bandit, Bandit XL1, Bandit XL5, Bandit XL5 waterpoof, Bandit VXL, Bandit VXL waterproof - 6 Bandits

Slash XL5 waterproof - 1 Slash

Slash 4wd VXL waterproof - 1 Slash 4wd.

Mini E-Revo VXL waterproof, Mini Slash VXL waterproof, (both have the same chassis), Mini E-Revo XL2.5 waterproof, Mini Slash XL2.5 waterproof - 4 Mini E-Revo based trucks

Talk about repetition!

But think about this.... AE isn't much better. 5 TC's, 4 T's, 4 B's, 2 GT's, 2 RC8B's, 2 RC8T's, 3 MGT's, 1 MGT mini, 4 or 5 RC18's, and there are probably some more I didn't get.

If you think about it, quite a few companies out there repeat. But Traxxas is probably the worst.

hootie7159 10.15.2009 02:01 PM

Haha...nice list :)....I'd just be happy I traxxas released a 4wd stampede...:)...1/10 scale...easy to maintain....cheap to fix....more durable than the only other 4wd electric monster truck out there which I believe is only HPIs wheely king....I cracked that plastic TVP chassis within 30 of owning it......but it was the trees fault :P lol

Weren't there 2 different 3905's? A yellow non-waterproof ESC version and then the blue waterproof version?

Don't forget their XL2.5 powered brothers.

suicideneil 10.15.2009 02:03 PM

R&D = $$$$$.

Slight tweakage of existing design = $ vs $$$ profit from fickle headed noobs wanting the next new truck.

I understand why these companies do what they do, but they are getting to be like Porche designers- 911 ftw it would seem.... :sarcastic:

Nope, only 1 3905 as far as I know. The widemaxx 3906 had the yellow EVX2 though, the 3905 got the blue one, and it was Traxxas's first "waterproof" model.

YAWN

Andrew32 10.15.2009 02:45 PM

ehh.....not really excited...

MetalMan 10.15.2009 02:47 PM

Wasn't there also the SportMaxx? S-Maxx was 4wd with no reverse and the SportMaxx was 2wd with reverse, I think? Or is it the oher way around?

With regards to AE producing so many buggies/trucks/TCs, they have been mostly fresh platforms. T3 aand T4 share almost no parts, same for B3/B4, TC3/TC4/TC5, etc.
