problem with rc monster mount on 8t
Well got everything together and my problem is when the motor is mounted i have a castle 2200kv motor. The shaft is not long enough to make it to the spur gear. With my mod 1 pinions i will only be grabbing like 1/2 the allen on the shaft.
What can i do to fix this. |
think i might have flipped the diff around. Should the spur be to the rear or the front on a 1.0 truck.
|
the spur gear should be above the spur gear hole in the chassis
|
yep and I know this and it is. That is the problem on mikes details page it shows the spur guard at the rear of the truck. Where mine was in the front when i took it off. So i am going to try to swap it and see what happens.
|
yep i am correct. It is in the right place and you can not reverse it. It would contact the chassis. Wierd huh. This stinks i wanted this up and running tonight.
|
You need to flip the diff... spur gear in rear. then you'll be golden.
And if I recall the spur wont be in the slot of the chassis anymore... You need to add the spacer underneath the plastic brace and it wont contact the chassis. What size spur? my 48 fit fine. (1.0 buggy) |
mike includes a spacer iirc to raise the diff - boosted give me call if you have any issues
|
yea thats in maybe it is cause i have a 48t spur gear. Let me try it and see but i think it is going to hit no matter what.

Replaces rear center diff bulk for mounting a single electric motor at the right rear position of the truck (behind the steering servo). Front spacer lifts front bulk to allow spur gear clearance. i.e. spur gear to the rear
Uses stock screws and upper center bulk brace. Longer screws included for front bulk to compensate for the bulk spacer. http://www.rc-monster.com/prodimages...bled%20web.jpg |
got it all figured out now. Switched the center diff around it clears just enough to get a piece of paper under there. Wow it is close, Got everything put in there. MMM 2200kv castle motor, And just need the battery tray which i will get tommrow. tested everything set up the sterring with a Hitec 7955tg. And it seems great everything is running smooth as can be. Now just got to find a medusa motor somewhere out there for it. And a new motor for the rc8 buggy.

50 tooth spur fits also, thats what I've always ran in my 8T.
