any chance of running this motor

Well i have a rc8 buggy converted with rcm mount and battery tray. Question is can i use my medusa research 36-50-3300 in there with a problem on my Mamaba monster. I was thinking of running it on 4s and 3s. Let me know your thoughts. I know it is a small motor with a high kv but just wondering if it would get the job done.

a 36-50 would be fine if it was only geared for 35mph or so

but being that its 3300kv i think its going to run pretty hot on 3 cell

never ran hot in my crt.5 on 3s. Thats why i was thinking it could get the job done in the buggy. I was thinking dropping to like a 14 t pinion to help the motor get in the rpm range quicker. But not sure waiting to here more peoples opinions.

As these motors have never got hot on me on any setup. But i am sure the weight of the buggy will give it a little bit of a hickup.

the 60mm is the sweet spot for the Medusa motors in a buggy, 70mm for the truggy. Smaller 1/12 and 1/10's are perfect for the 50mm.

go weigh your crt.5 and the weigh your buggy............ now you know why it will run hot

as posted above the weight is what i am worried about. Maybe i will just do something else. Figure something out.

I run a castle neu these days in my buggy, she weighs a little more than the medusa 60mm I use to run but it feels nice having that lil extra power when I want it. Run time is still good enough to make it through the typical club a-main.
