Lipo cutoff for Novak HV-MAXX?

I just picked up an E-MAXX with the older Novak HV-MAXX BL system. I got the instructions on line and found out there is no lipo cutoff built in. The cutoff that origionaly came with the system is missing. What do I need for a replacement? The batts I"ll be running are 2 2s Enerland 5100mah 25c packs.

Also, is the sensor cable replaceable? there is a plug on the ESC but not on the motor. The cable I have has some repairs done to it so I'd like to replace it. Thanks for any help!

The sensor wire will need be replaced by Novak since it's soldered to the motor, unless you can handle that ? You should able to purchase the wire fron Novak.

If your HV is NOT the "Pro" version there is NO LVC or any other adjustable perameters.

Actually, Novak has a seperate LVC that you can purchase to wire in to your older HV system. LIke you stated, they used to come with the system. I'm sure they have them on their website.

I think you can take your motor apart and replace the sensor cable by removing the endbell. I'd verify that with Novak - you know we have a Novak Forum here and they support that forum.

If a mod would move the post to the Novak forum, I'm sure they'd get you some help on it.

Two comments:

First: You should be aware that if you are running two separate 2S packs with the HV Maxx ESC, one will get drained faster than the other and you should use a 2S smart stop on that one pack. The way to tell which gets drained faster is to connect a pack to input "A" and try to rurn on the ESC. If it lights up, that is the one that gets drained faster. If not it is the other one.

Second: I've taken apart a Novak BL motor, including the back where the sensor cables go. I've replaced antenna wires and PWM input cables on ESCs but there is no way I would be able to replace the sensor wires on the sensor board. It is just really convoluted in there. Good luck. If you can't do it, your only real alternative is to use their non-warranry replacement option for around $55 (including S&H).
