Going under the knife tomorrow

Got some more xrays today and surgery is needed to set my collar bone straight. Another big bill I did not need. Basically the bones move on top of each other by an inch. And it's pretty close to the surface. So two screws and a plate will be put in. I was hoping it would be a RCM machined plate:wink:. I'll have 6 screws now. My wife is not really happy about this. She might just burn the bamboo skateboard that caused this:gasp:. Gonna hafta sell off some of my toys to help pay for the bills. Just got to decide what I want to keep.

Good luck! May the RCM force be with you.

Dude Romano! Hope you get this fixed ASAP. And like jayjay said, enjoy the pain meds. Morphine will make you nauseous though, but the rest are awesome! I'll be praying for a quick recovery for you man.

Dam Romano I didn't think you broke the bone in half I thought you just fractured it. Ouch! If you need any help with anything I'm just across the street so give me a holla.

Best of luck and get well soon!

I spoke to Romano a little while ago and he says he is doing fine. They put in 6 #6 drywall screws and an RC Monster plate to hold it all together. Says the doctors did a block (I guess like an epidural but for his arm) on his arm so he can't feel or move it at all. When he said tomorrow I thought he meant Saturday, I guess I woke him up but he sounded good and he’s feeling no pain.

Too bad

Thats too bad Snellemin. Sorry to hear of your bad luck with the skateboard. I hope things heal up nicely for you. Having to sell of R/C stuff is never a good sign no matter what the reason is. I hope you can find another way around that one.

Thanks fellas!

I'm typing with 1 finger to thank you guys before my next dose of meds and dose off again. You lifted my spirit up!

My right arm is still blocked, but I do have some movement in my fingers. I have a total of 10 screws in my body now. I'll scan the copy of the xray in few days.

Thanks again for the get well wishes!

Wow that is pretty rough!

Not trying to start a flame war or bash the US, but hearing stories like this makes me like our healthcare a little more. Yeah it's SLOW, but it's also free.

Glad to hear everything went ok. Do you need someone to take care of you RC gears for you?.

hehehehe, I'm trying to hold to them. Most likely my funny car, truggy and one big pan car will need to find a new home. And I just bought a brand new C40 5L Hacker motor for that big pan car and your LT-200 ESC.

I can really feel the pain this morning. Didn't really sleep that much with the meds and my daughter waking up throughout the nite.

You'll get better in no time at all. This will probablu be a blur to you by summer time.

Don't sell your RCs, it'll just be too expensive later on when you try to get them back.
