Installing BL controller for new guy

I am a new guy here trying to get a BL system installed on a mostly stock E-Maxx (MIP CVD, strobe slipper). I have a BK 12020 controller and am waiting for the Wanderer 8XL to get in with a 20 tooth pinion.

Questions:
1. How do I physically attach the controller to the frame? It does not sit flush like the stock Novak. If anyone has a web site with pics - that would be perfect.
2. The strobe ball bearing does not fit onto the transmission shaft - do you all have to Dremel that down to fit?

If any one know of a site with pictures of installation, I would be grateful!

I am sure more questions will come when the 8XL gets in!

The input shaft only needs a few kisses with a fine file to fit the strobe bearing. Really no need for a dremel there.

As for ESC mounting, some creativity is needed. I just posted some old pics of how I didi it in Sylvesters G2R thread.

You do have to dremel the input shaft very slightly to fit the bearing over, don't take too much off because it still has to key to the slipper plates.

For esc mounting, zip ties are your friend,i usually use servo tape underneath or strong velcro.
For the e-maxx it's common to make a right angle bracket that mounts to the unused side of the motor plate.some creativity is usually needed to find the best way to mount the esc,you want to keep the motor wires and battery wires as short as you can,and put the esc somewhere it's protected from flying debris and stuff.
