Well my friday sucked!!!
 

Well, my Fri was putting along just fine. Work was pretty quiet as I'm on call for IT work for a large investment firm so I was doing some errands around town with my 08 EX-L Civic. When I got back to the parking lot, I noticed something wrong with my rear bumper from a distance.

After getting closer it looked like some asswad took his dirty shoe and wiped the bottom part off on my rear bumper! Needless to say, it was horrendously scratched. I ran to the car wash and powered washed the car and the area as best I could to get it clean, then zipped home and spent half an hour with rags and Scratch X working up a sweat trying to buff away some little shits idea of a funny joke. I was so worked up, I didn't think to take pictures to show before and after. Luckily the Scratch X worked pretty good and its hard to see the scratched area until you get up close.

A few years ago, my 04 Accord V6 EX-L got backed into the rear bumper and got damaged badly at the local mall and the asshats drove away with no note or anything! $700 worth of damage after insurance.

Less then a year later with the same car, a dumbass mother with her blonde airhead daughter were both talking on their cell phones and backed into me in the Costo parking lot with there pimped out Chevy Suburban while me and the girlfriend were sitting waiting to back out!!

I really hate working so hard to have nice things in my life ruined by ignorant or just plain rude people.... :grrrrrr:

Someone smashed my window in my car to steal a little GPS Garmin unit this week. This was at work, where we have security cameras all around. Ins won't cover much due to deductibles, so I'm SOL on the window and the GPS I got as a gift.
Hopefully they might be able to catch them. Usually smash and grabs are a complete write off.

Appearently the car they were driving was an Escalade. wtf.

Dont leave valuables on display- theres a big drive by the government at the moment trying to educate people leaving things like GPS units, laptops, bags/rucksacks and other items on display insiode their cars- anything that can be snatched basically, even if the car is locked & on your own driveway. CD players with removeable facias is a good thing, remove the faceplate & put it in the glove box, same too with the GPS unit etc, and hide any other large items in the trunk or under the seat where they cant be seen by theives walking past (looking for stuff to steal).

I have had my cars vandalized and broken into as well. It sucks.

I had an idea a while back to mount a 6' lead pipe (or something heavy gauge like steel or whatever) to a gian clock spring and mount this to the underside of my truck. Wind it up, and have a electric latch that could be triggered by the alarm system. So when someone fools with the truck with the alarm armed the pipe unlaches and swings out into their legs...with authority! Then it makes the full rotation and latched back under the truck ready for any more tampering... With enough force I figured it could break a leg, or at least leave a massive bruise, HHEHEHE.

What about something like the SouthAfrican 'Blaster' security system?

I'm obsessive-compulsive about my vehicles and I can't stand it when people do stupid crap like that either. Somone pulled too far forward at a parking lot a while back and hit my car, I didn't notice when I got to the car but when I released the E-brake the car moved forward and there are now scratches from the screws and license plate of the other car. I broke off their mirrors but was still pissed, but I just drove off. My ex hated going anywhere with me in my Mustang because I'd park it as much as 2-3 miles away from where we were going if it meant putting it in a safe spot (I thought the walk was nice, but she hated that I cared so much "about that stupid car.") Needless to say, she's an ex and my Mustang is still mint :lol:

Write down your VIN number and go to the Honda dealer, they should have or be able to get a small bottle of touch-up paint and you can cover it up. Not perfect, but better than scratches.

How about 2 lead pipes, with spikes on them (like a bear trap) that come out from opposite ends of the car and trap the would-be thief so that they're there when you come back. :diablo: You could go a step further and have a dull hacksaw drop out of the wheel well. :lol:

I had an 85 VW GTI in college. Very dark windows, nothing visable unless you're inside the car. Got broken into via corner glass. Torn out my subs (luckily inexpensive), took the faceplate (and not the whole CD player, WTF?), tried to pull up the amps but they were just too secure. That was aggravating.
Same car different story: Was at a yield intersection, guy rear ends me. Screws my bumper all up and bends part of the body in the rear below the hatch back door. I get screwed with false info and police never find the guy. My wish is for karma kick his ass.
Few months ago I installed door ding protectors on my '07 Ridgeline. I'm so glad I did because not 2 weeks after some ***-bag swings their door into my rear passenger door in a parking lot. Hit smack in the middle of my ding protector, left a little bit of their paint as a gift. The door protector still looks like new.

Honestly I've had my car broken into so many times (5?) I think it really doesn't matter. A coworker of mine has a softtop, which some crackheads cut open (it had a zipper) and climbed thru (rather than just pulling the lock open) just to steal the pennies in the ashtray and some burned CD-Rs. Dumbasses.

Another guy I was talking to had his car broken in and the thieves popped the hood (bonnet) and stole the battery. Neither had anything out.

I've hid things, had things covered, had car alarms, dark tinted windows, and nothing has ever stopped anyone really intent on messing w/ your stuff. I've always lived in nice areas too, not some crappy part of town where you "expect" these things.

Cops never catch anyone, and insurance only covers so much. You really can't have any nice things w/o some theiving MF'er out to mess it up.

What I am REALLY REALLY REALLY glad about is that I had my Savage in the back in the trunk. Thank F'ing god they didn't go back there. I would have killed somebody then. I was actually happy after I opened the trunk and saw it still there. What they stole wasn't worth much.

There was a story back a long while ago in my hometown paper where a guy got really pissed after his car stereo was repeatedly stolen, so he hooked up a road flare behind the stereo so if somebody started pulling it out the wrong way it would go off. A thief tried to steal it later and got 2nd degree burns on his hands, but the dash caught fire and the whole car burned up. lol

Have a cable that sets off ALL of the airbags at once when the stereo is pulled out without permission... :rofl: :rofl:
