iRacing anyone?

Anyone else here on iRacing? I've been subscribed for a while, but just tooling around so far, haven't done any races yet... mostly because I suck!

I'm working on lap times at south boston in the legends rookie car (18.6 currently... ugh) and for fun I take laps at Indy in the '79 Lotus.

Be interested in finding out who else is out there turning laps!

Looks interesting. I love racing games, but with this one, do you really need the steering wheel or can you go without it?

You can't play at all without a wheel & pedals. It really is more of a sim then a game... and even a trainer for some professional racers. I'm using the logitech driving force pro (the one that came out for GT4 for the ps2), but some guys have multi-thousand dollar setups.

For instance, I'm currently running a rookie legends car at south boston, and I'm about 7/10th's of a second off "race pace", and 9/10th's off of qualifying pace. Doesn't sound like much, but when you're doing 17 second laps, it might as well be minutes. The other guys drive right past me.

I might give it a try. It'll be awesome beating some of the professionals.
