90 degree bullet connector?

can i drill out the side of a 6.5mm bullet connector will that work or would it be a waste?
when i shorten my motor wires on the cc 2200kv do the wires have to be the same length?

That's what I did to mine. Be careful. Once the hole is big enough for that large wire there's not much metal left.

Just drill/cut ONE side out, that way you have enought contact surface.

That's what I do and it works great. I've never done a ful 90*, but sometimes I make a 45* angle and it's a good compromise between an angled connector while still allowing me to get a single piece of heatshrink over it.

so instead of making it 90. just grind out the bullet so i can angle it around 45?
and what about cutting my cc2200kv motor wires do they all have to be the same length?

bdebde 10.29.2009 03:16 PM

I bend the wire 90 before I tin it. And yes, motor wires should all be the same length.

The bullets on the MMM are 6.5mm right? (motor has 5.5mm stock?)

Ideally, they should be, but I personally do not think it matters if there are slightly different so that they reach where they need without stress or too much slack. Mostly aesthetic.

I tried slightly different wire lengths & made no noticable difference compared to common length wires

If you're concerned about heatshrink over 90 degree bullets? try self amalgamating tape, it works very well

ok so i went ahead and just bent then and tinned them worked wonders. i dont see the problem with using shrink tube on a 90. thanks for the help guys

PBO 10.29.2009 05:28 PM

Haha...that's cause it's not 90!

zviper 10.29.2009 05:31 PM

close enough lol

PBO 10.29.2009 05:53 PM

Looks nice though, think I'll do that rather than the drill out, 90 method next time

zviper 10.29.2009 06:44 PM

i used adhesive shrink tube if that helps
