Schulze 149.18 E.S.C : need more volts
 

The 149.18 handles 18 cells at most, but I need to use 20 cells, actually, and I dont know if its possible to use 20 cells with this controller? is it possible? if not, why?

Why does the 9918 have the ability to handle 20 cells? anything special?

I wouldn't try it.I think Serum says it's voltage that seems to kill the 18.97.Maybe the 149 will be different,maybe it won't,i wouldn't try it unless you can afford to lose it.

i think that bk just under rated them a little to cover there ass' and did a little research and found that they are very capable of running 20 cells with ease

Is there a way to make the schulze handle 20 cells? It can handle 5 lipos, unlike the 9920 which can only handle 4 lipos.

I'm pretty sure the 9920 can handle upto 6s lipo (22.2v)

If the 9920 can handle 20 - 1.2V (24V) cells it can easily handle 6 - 3.7V (22.2V) cells.

Captain was asking about a SCHULZE controller, but everyone answers with a bk controller answer. :)
The controller can likely handle the 20 cells, Captian. It isn't the voltage that kills the Schulzes, it is current and "loose connectors". have a look at the capacitors on the controller. BK uses 50 volt caps, while Schulze was using 25 volt caps. Bear in mind, a peaked cell will have higher voltage than the 1.2volt we use as a general guideline. I have overcelled some Schulze controllers with no ill effects, and have under celled other schulze controllers with ill effects. If you over cell the controller and it blows up, then your out of luck. If it works, then your in luck. Basically, it is a matter of whether or not you want to assume the risk. :)

Okay. Thanks, Monster. I'm sure I read it somewhere that the 9920 can handle 4 lipos only, but if you guys are sure about what you say, then I can't argue with you. I have the 9918 and the 149.18. I'll use the 9918 with my truck as soon as I receive it and finish building it. The 149.18 will be used for the Brushless Bazooka Project. After I accomplish my Bazooka Project, I'll use the 149.18 with 20 cells in my truck, if Allah permits. Wish me luck, guys.

I am confident that the 9920 can handle 6s lipo. It is less voltage than 20 cells. Some people have ran 6s on the 9920. Not sure who. I have thought of trying 20 cells on the schulze as well. Just didn't want to kill it so never did.

My shculze only has the 25v caps on it to.

I wouldn't put my money on a 18 cells schulze loaded with 20 cells.. they hardly stay in one piece on 16 cells..

What is the reason not to buy the new MGM 16024? (cheaper, and better service)

I thought promod put his controller (schulze) over quite some abuse when it comes to voltage..

how many cells can teh mgm handle?

16024 is 24 cells 160A.

Anyone know if the braking issue is resolved now?I believe the 16016 was going into reverse if you brake/lift off/then brake again.

Also what's the deal with the 'hydro' versions? are they waterproof?
