ZIPPY Flightmax?
any body run them? are the ratings accurate? Im in need of a new lipo my hyperion pack as been messed up since i got it, and now it causes my truck to hit the low voltage cut off with in 2 min of driving it
|
Check the esc settings. If that doesn't show results contact Hyperion and see if you can get it exchanged.
As for Zippy packs: I have some Turnigy packs that I run in my RC8 conversion and I have no complaint about them. Cheaper than Zippy and they work great. |
if u are going to go the cheap route and buy zippy or turnigy packs buy the higher output packs 25c+ i have had problems with puffing from pulling more than the rated amps but under a proper setup i find they are great performing batteries for the price

NICE! got a 5000mah 20c 2s pack for the wife, a 4300kv motor for her truck, A 5000mah 25c 3s pack for my truck, 2 6s balancer/chargers, 10pair of 4mm plugs, and 6feet of heat shrink.
$202 shipped :surprised: |
I run the Flightmax hardcase 5000mah 2s 30C packs in my E-Revo, and also bought a pair for my truggy. So far I've been very pleased. One pack was pretty far out of balance when I got it, but I got it to balance back up and now it's perfect.
I can't compare them to "high end" packs like Hyperion, Flight Power, etc. because I've never used those, but until I find a compelling reason to switch I'm going to stick with the Flightmax. Unfortunately HobbyKing no longer carries the 30C 5000mah hardcases, but hopefully by the time I need new packs they'll have some better hardcase options. |

not real sure but they have to be damn close if not the same, maybe small design changes but i really all i know from experiance is the new turnigy pack i got is great. i have the 5000mah 30c 6s pack and it stays cool in my muggy with medusa 80mm 2000kv 13.5 lbs and im pretty hard on it and had a zippy h 5000mah 15c pack, lol up to 160 degrees and it didnt last long after that. but used within their ratings and charged/balanced properly i have found they are great packs. especially for those on a budget

I've decided on a Turnigy 5000mah 4S 25C as a spare pack, Hobbycity doing them for $46 which is great in my opinion for what they are. I have the Hyperion 6500mah 4S 35C but wanted a second battery that's a bit smaller for bashing and running heats.

I have 2 Turnigy 30c 5k packs in my mbx-5T and they perform well. On an average of 12-15 mins. of run time....depending on how hard I push the truck
|
I suppose i should add i have a 4s Turnigy 20C 5k pack that i run in my RC8 for about 12-15 minutes also with no worries - stays really cool at 100-110f too =)

Got every thing i ordered today. soldered some deans on to the 10g :surprised: batt wire, did a balance charge at 1amp every cell in my 3s and 2s packs were with in .01 volts :yipi:. havent had a chance to try the ez-run motor in the wifes rig yet but im thinking it will be perfect just like every thing else. The Turnigy Accucel-6 charger is fantastic so far, for 35 bux you cant go wrong.

Is there a break in period for new lipos?
|
Supposedly- some people, pro racers especially, say to go easy on them for the first 5 -10 runs maybe, then you can rag on them. The internal resistance will lower and punch/ capacity will increase after that break in period, making them less likely to puff & capable of higher output; I'd tend to agree if Im hionest, as alot of people really hammer their new lipos to see how good they are, and then tend to puff them within a couple runs and are left scratching their head as to why it happend = like breaking in a new petrol or nitro engine say....

I have 2 Turnigy 5000-6S-20C packs, they perform similar to my G3 VX4200-6S in summer, but as winter comes they seem have more punch than the triple priced G3. :surprised: PS: Heat your old packs up before running, that will make it usable, somehow to prolong their lives before going to trash can. |
Might be OT, so apologies, but I got given 2 of these brand new, thought about hooking them up in series. Anyone got any thoughts on this, they were given to me free so nothing to lose in theory!! Would these be OK to use with my MMM/2200KV do you think?
http://www.all4rc.co.kr/shop/shopdet...ch=&sort=order also, they have one wire hole and a thin red lead that I guess is the balance lead, how does that work on these packs? Also would I charge them seperately as a 2S each, or can you charge them both at the same time in series? If seperately then I guess then when connected together they could be unbalanced? |
