another new hobbyking esc (150A)

this one is actually meant for cars:lol:

i think this is a remake of the ezrun 150a. for $70, it's a really nice looking budget esc. almost makes me regret buying that MMM. almost:wink:

also, the website says 6s, but the esc only says 4s. i think it is 6s because their 180a boat esc says 4s, but it actually rated for 6s

Yeah I saw that too, actually tempted to pick one up and throw it in the Savage Flux, see if I can kill it.

The ESC is hobbywin oem ver.
type one 80A 4S, and 150 6S.
hobbywin new ver esc same as old ez80-150.

I might be....we shall see.

so its a cheep clone of a failure prone esc...............yep thats going to work great!

lutach 11.04.2009 10:54 PM

It's not a Hobbywing ESC. Like I said before, there's a place that sells some sort of kit and whoever gets it decides what type of components to put on it.

Edit: I hope they got the sensor part of the ESC worked out though. The only reason why I didn't want to test it was the sensor problem and the fact it had similar specs as the Hobbywing.

Dam.... $70 I might have to try one out.

*edit* I guess they changed the site to say 4s now.... Still would be a great 1/10 controller, maybe light 1/8.

Saw that on there as well, looks like that "anaconda" one that was posted up a couple days ago. I was thinking hw at first glance, but if you check out the instructions the programming menus are different and said uses the hk ss program card not the hobbywing. I had some of those "kit" ones like lutach was talking about. They worked, but not the smoothest, and were very touchy. I'd want to hear some feedback on this one first.

simplechamp 11.05.2009 03:25 AM

I was going to order one, had it in the cart and ready to check out, but then I couldn't find the programming card (HKSS program card). I assume this is the programming card for HobbyKing's SS line of ESC's but I can't find it anywhere. Once I find the right program card I'll buy it, but otherwise the manual doesn't give any info on programming with a TX. Live customer suport was no help, said they didn't deal with technical questions.

If it's only the 4S version, then it should be the 80A unit and not the 150A. The 150A is 6S and I heard they were having trouble with it. I wonder why they opted to go with the 3 capacitor version instead of the 4 capacitor version.

himalaya 11.05.2009 11:06 PM

This is not made by HobbyWing, it's by xxx(Lutach, shall I hide their name?:yipi:) located also in Shenzhen. And yes, the sensor port works, actually it works better in sensored mode, with smoother start up. I tried it at 6S and it survived.

PS: Glad they changed the 4 small 220uF capacitors on prototype revision to 3 bigger ones.

I guess they're trying to minimize failures by underrating them. (?)
