for the motor, look at the front of the rotor, if it has a big alloy "thing" its a V2

"Old" V1:

"New" V2

(damaged one but you can see the aluminium part on the front)

all new T8 should be V2 but it does not help much. Get Neu along with Tekin esc anad race happily forever after

Here in europe we race with a few V2's but no issues anymore since my first one exploded. I'm happy with it...
I love the sensored motors too

Here in europe we had several V2 fail ;)
I am happy with all tekin ESCs and 1/10 tekin motors but not 1/8 scale

I've had a V2 fail, and my uncle has had two fail. Though not in the way Brushless Racer's have - just where the magnet has slipped off the rotor, like they're not stuck properly.

The ESC is very good, and works well on sensorless too.

I'm going to keep running the motors, as the sensored motor allows me to drive more smoothly.

Our RX8 ESCs went back to Tekin for inspection/update. Tekin and I were concerned about a batch of ESCs with cold solder joints and suggested getting a fresh supply to ensure my customers (particularly international) will receive the corrected units.
Tekin motors share the Neu motor design, similar to the "other" big name mfg - newest motors from Tekin should be every bit as good as a Neu, but with solder tabs and sealed ends. :)
