Brushless Jammin CRT Project

I have finally started a new project.
Brushless Jammin CRT Truggy
So far I have purchased

Jammin crt pro kit
NRI Tomahawk suspension (I need a little bling)
Xtreme RC Racing rear uprights
Spektrum Radio

on my list to purchase:
Dace 23MM adapters
Dace skid plate
king headz Upper Steering Plate
Proline 23mm Wheels
Crowdpleazer 2 show body with $ paint job

I need input on a Brushless setup I want this truck to be a beast :028:
I will be using lipos but this will be my first lipo setup also so I need help with that too.:032: Hyperion Polyquest "Lite Storm" are these good? I want the best:027:
I have been thinking of a lehner 2250 8 turn I dont want to run more than 22.2 volts lipo though so I dont know if that motor will work for me I may need a lower turn? I dont know I need your help here.
Maybe lehner 1950 would be better?

I have access to machine shop at work and custom composite fabrication(ME)
I have never made a motor mount before but it doesnt seem too hard. I want to use a 51t mod 1 Spur like Mike sells (if it will yield appropriate gearing?) I am not sure how to adapt it though; if anyone has done this on a similar center diff help and advice would be awesome.

As I get things in and assembled I will post pictures
Thanks

You dont need to go near the 22 series. A 1950/9 or 10 turns will do the job just fine. Get the micro 20120 controller for your setup or the 36120.

squeeforever 02.25.2006 02:53 PM

i wouldnt go for a 36120. if im not mistaken they have a 42000 rpm motor limit. the 3695 will do i think. also, i would go for the 2250 if funds permit. with the 51 tooth spur you will probably need a rather big pinion. so gearing shouldnt be a problem. mike can make you one if he can find the proper gear stock for it.

Gustav 02.25.2006 03:42 PM

IMO it won't be near heavy enough for a 2250,a 1950 on 6s will be extreme already( go for a 1600 to 1800kv for 6s).Either a 36120 or a 3695 would be good ( no need to go over 42000 rpm) or the MGM 16024.

What's the diff ratio?

@squee,it won't need a very big pinion, to hit about 65 mph with 3.3:1 diffs and 40000 rpm is around 16/51(somewhere in that ballpark)

EDIT;nl12,get in touch with Mike for a spur adapter,he'll likely make you an adapter for the 51T spur.

nl12 02.25.2006 04:37 PM

The diff ratio is 43/13
Gustav I will ask mike about an adapter for the spur gear, thanks

Edit: 1950 7 turn 1791kv I may go with this if others seem to agree, I am still pondering the 22 series....... something about it

squeeforever 02.25.2006 04:49 PM

the 1950 is a good motor for that setup but if you want insane speed and the most biggest super-d-duper motor around, go with the 2250. if i had the funds to get one i would but....

have you got experience with BL? if so, how many cells?

Dafni 02.25.2006 04:55 PM

A 1950 would do, really.
On 6S, take a wind that would give you around 40mph on 6S, and you will have an awesome setup.

maxxdude1234 02.25.2006 05:24 PM

A 1950 on 6s could do upwards of 50mph+ IMO. But if you really want your truck to be an absolute beast, then a 2250 would be the option - personally a 1950 would be plenty for me. You will also need a hell of a controller for the 2250/8, nothing less than an MGM 16024 or bk 20150/36150.

Serum 02.25.2006 05:50 PM

there are a few steps in between though.. How about a 2230? it will have got a bit more torque than the 1950.. or the 2240. which is quite a beast as well.

what is your experience with BL? and with how many cells?

coolhandcountry 02.25.2006 06:34 PM

A jammin crt with a 2250 would totally be a beast. You may want to consider a 2250 7t I think would be better than the 8 t for 22volts. The 1950 would push it around on lipo pretty easy. 1950 8t would be a beast as well.

Project sounds awsome, Keep us updated.

Thanks,
Joe

the 2250/7 is 1691kv.. i realy prefer a /10 instead.. gives you more room for a more gentle gearing. remember that the jammin has got limited gearing options Leroy.

coolhandcountry 02.25.2006 09:11 PM

I am taking that into account rene. The 10 doesn't start to come alive on 22volts. That is why I said a 7. It has enough torque to pull it. It is no more limiited than my truck really. You see what I am talking about when you test it. 18cells is like a good start for it on a 10 turn.

Superemaxx89 02.25.2006 09:26 PM

why such a huge motor? The 2250 is $400? How big is a jammmin CRT?
