Snow cover for mmm!!!

Hi !

I just thought of a way to protect my mmm esc from snow and grime ....
I put a outwearbag made for 1/5 airfilters over the intire esc ! This protects it from snow and water spashes from snowbashing

I would also like a pic of it :)

HI !

I don't have any pic's of mine but here is a link to the outwear filters http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.88...t.A/id.4384/.f

To fit it to the mmm-esc i just bent the wire's down and let the elastic opening slip under the mountingplate for my esc ! the filter is easy to remove and i gotthe on/off switch covered by the filter to ! i 'can operate the swich inside the filter ! no need to remove the filter !

Do you have some overheat problem?
can you take some pics please?

I disided not to use this cover because i think my esc might overheat ! So i coated the circutboard with plastidip instead and that seems to work great !

what about some sort of dust cover(if planning to run in dusty track conditions)??...or does a mmm esc not need protection from dust??

sorry guys,im a brushless newb

speedy i think u had a good thing going, the outerwear woud have been fine as long as it keeps the snow and water out of the esc, plastic dip is most likely worse at dissipating heat then the mesh cover. ive heard of people running their truggys with a shower cap over the whole frame worked great and no overheating problems, but after all it is cold ouside:party: ill buy it off you for 10 shipped
pm me if u dont want it!

alot of people are using the liquid tape and just coating everything but the heatsink. i've been using mine for almost a month now, and it's been GREAT!

the temps are no different than stock, and even the fan still works.

Dust isnt really an issue- you can blow that out of the esc with a compressor easily enough, or use a thin layer of foam sponge between the erevo MMM hold-down and the top of the esc- stops the fan sucking in dust but still allows the esc to breath through the exhaust vents in the side.

thanks for the info

Have you guys seen this corrosionX way to waterproof. I think it has been posted before.

I wonder though if corrosinX would collect dust in the summer time?

It dries off and nothing sticks to it. I got some on my MMM case when I coated the PCB and the stickers don't hold anymore. Also doesn't overheat. :)

Now that looks like it is worth trying, never know when a puddle is going to come out of nowhere!, or a creek!
