Any out there?
I have a large 4mb EPS / JPG logo for my wifes NFP which has a white background... For the web site I need it to be transparent - any ideas on how to do this without it looking sucky? Thanks |
Can you resave it as a .png?

No matter what, if it currently has a white background, you are going to have to "erase" it without damaging the actual image. PSP has a background eraser tool that can help with this. Photoshop I'm sure has a similar tool, but I don't use Adobe bloatware and rapeware. And your file format choices are GIF and PNG. GIFs are limited to 256 colors, and the transparency is all or nothing. This means if you have semi-transparent pixels, you are going to want to blend them with whatever your background is to prevent that stair-stepping effect. PNGs do have support for alpha-transparency, which allows for semi-transparent pixels, so this might be a better choice depending on what you want.

I confess to be hoping for a volunteer - I know nothing about this!

My friend bought a cheap program at Walmart and he does his wife's party stuff with. He'll take a kid's photo and take away the back ground and put in new stuff to match what ever theme the party is based on. Very easy to use.
