Need a high lipo cell count balancer

I need a lipo balancer rated to balance 8 cells (running dual 5s3p packs in series). Price is not really a factor at this point.

I'll also be needing a charger.

Thanks!

Thunder Power is the only company I know of that makes a setup like that.

These two items can actually interface with each other!
For these, you'd need TP-style taps.

metalman- i plan on using a mrc 989 to charge 2 3s packs. will this allow me to charge and balance these all at once? or will i still need 2 balancers?

What does that mean?

That means that through a cable the two can communicate with each other. For example, if a pack is severely out of balance, the balancer can tell the charger to slow the charge rate down. It also enables you to see the individual cell voltages (as provided by the balancer) on the charger's display screen.

It could work, but would give the balancer a heck of a time trying to balance 2 packs that weren't started charging at the same time. It would be best to use 2 individual balancers for a setup like this.

what do you mean by, werent started charging at the same time? i would charge both in series at the same time since the 989 can handle up to 8s lipo.

Oh... I thought you meant you would charge 2 3s packs on separate channels. Well, in that case it would work. BUT, the taps from the two packs have to be merged so that whichever cells between the two packs that are put in series share the same tap wire. I'm not exactly sure how the TP balancer works, but if it does have two separate tap ports then you wouldn't need to join the wires.

Man, I wanna go lipo but all this gets very confusing.
