difference Monster Mamba Max - Mamba Max Pro
Mamba Monster Max, for 1/8
Castle Creations | Mamba Monster for 1/8th Scale and Monster Truck Mamba Max Pro, for 1/10 Castle Creations | Mamba Max Pro 1/10th Scale Power Systems But what is thé difference between these 2 ESC's? They both can handle 6s lipo and outside the fact they have different measurements and their specsheats say for what scale they should be used, it seems that you can easily use the Pro on a 1/8 car, no? and thus making the Monster Mamba obsolete?... So what's the catch? In another board somebody asked the same thing: http://www.offroadrc.ca/showpost.php...92&postcount=7 "Considering the mamba pro can handle up to 6s lipo, can it also output enough power for an 8th scale buggy or truggy with motors of 2200kv and higher? I'm thinking it can, but the castle site says its for "10th scale" can someone clarify please!? Would love to replace the MMM with the Pro because its alot smaller and will help lighten up the chassis, also make it easier to mount it. " And the respons was kinda marketing related imo: "The Mamba Max Pro was designed for 10th scale use. However, it is being tested with some "light weight" buggies using 5 cells. Use in 8th scale vehicles is not supported by Castle however. They suggest using the Monster Max for that purpose" :sarcastic: |

The pro will run sensored or non sensored and the Monster only works as a sensorless esc, it'll still run a sensored motor but can't take advantage of the sensor. The Monster is rated for a lot more amps than the pro also

And judging by their components and count, I would estimate the MMPro is good for ~80A and the MMM is good for ~120A. As such, the MMM also has a larger heatsink to deal with the extra heat that added current generates. So, in a nutshell, the difference is the available sensored operation of the MMPro and the higher current rating of the MMM. The BEC in the MMM might be able to deliver more current too, but not sure as I have not tested it.
