Heavy maxx what motor?
So far i have....
HV on 14 cells UE EXT suspension UE 6 spyder diffs GA bulk heads with braces GA 2mm Titanium skid plates MIP CVD's all 4 plus center G1 Single speed trans with steel idel gear and flm half case HiTec hs-45mg servo only thing left to get is the Chassis and shock towers and shocks. To me it feels heavier now than it did stock. Will i be able to get this thing above 50mph on 20 cells and a 8xl and still have loads of power for wheelies? I didn't think it would be this heavy, i don't know what it weighs. |
If you wanting to run 20cells, then a 10XL will be better. An 8XL will run pretty hot on 20cells. On 20cells the 10XL should do 50mph without too much difficulty :D
|
You got the part's to handle the power. Ditch the mip's, they won't hold up to 20 cell's. Get some ue 8 mm steel cvd's. Also the 8xl can't handle 20 cell's, you should look at a lehner 1950 to get maximum speed, but a 10 or 11xl will work fine. It will do 50 mph, wheely's I don't know for sure.
For the chassis i'd get a FLM if your a basher and race bomb if your a racer. The g-maxx would be best to race, but it can't hold 10 cell's flat per side.(or you must stack them above each other) Shock's would be either Powerstroke's or ue racer x shock's, both are the best of the best. Shock tower would be ue knucklehead. |
I would go 10xl for motor. You could run a 9xl but it may heat up some. The flm chassis would require some custom battery pack making. Don't know about the race bomb but the gmaxx hold twenty and more nicely. I have had 26 on it at one time.

Race Bomb hold's 12 cell's flat per side.
Didn't know the g-maxx could do 10 flat. On their site it say's 8 flat. |
I've never heard of a racebomb holding 12cells flat, I thought they only held 9cells flat. Anyway, racebomb aren'y being made anymore. Your best bet is with a Gorillamaxx chassis (extended ideally).

I think since i have added all these parts it has slowed down the HV it don't seem as fast anymore. Does anyone here run about the same setup 10xl on 20 cells?
|
im not sure about the racebomb not being made anymore but i know for a fact that they wont hold 12 cells flat. i think its 8 or 9. btw, how said the g-maxx holds 10 flat?
i run a 10xl on 16 cells and it is a powerhouse. 20 should be insane with good runtimes to. it should do more than 50. probably about 55 with appropriate gearing. if want to lose a little weight i would get rid of the ga bulkheads. there one of the heiviest on the market. i would go with the flm bulkless hybrids but thats just me. i had powerstrokes on my emaxx (dont anymore cause i run a e-revo) and they were they best i have ever seen by far! chassis i would certainly go for a gorillamaxx. if you want to save a little weight go for the carbon fiber. |
I run the 8xl on 20 cells with a 12 1/2 lb. truck and I do over 60mph.(need to flag down a cop one day and see if he will clock it for me) Wheelies???? more like truck flips over the wheelie bar! can't go more than 2/3 throttle from a stop. I think the set-up you pick depends on what you really want to use the truck for. If its for showing off, racing others and bashing like me then I would go with the 8xl. And it can be used with 20 cells as long as you get the gearing right and have good airflow over everything. It is a good combination of power and run time.(I get over 15 mins running hard)
As far as a chassis I would reccomend the Gorilla Maxx extended like others have said. When you have that much power you will be flipping like crazy when turning or taking off. The Gorilla Maxx extended made my truck super stable. Its like a new truck. And like squee said the FLM hybrids are the way to go. I would reccomend putting UE 8 spyders in them. |
How much are those chassis?
|
what chassis? gorilla or racebomb?
