Buggy vs truggy fair?

Hi, I am going to race my jammin x2 buggy but my race is combine with buggy n truggy.

Should I race my truggy or buggy?

I tried my buggy it's fast but over turn easily. Any advantage running a 1/8ep buggy vs Ep truggy?

So far I win races with my truggy have not race my Ep buggy yet.

I'm faster with my Truggy than my Buggy. I'm pretty sure if you look at major race results the Pro's also turn faster times in Truggy. Bigger tires allows you to have better grip and put more power to the ground. They are also much more forgiving in the bumps and the longer suspension travel helps with the monster jumps.

I'd tell you to run Truggy - no doubt.

If your winning with the truggy and haven't drivin' the buggy I'd go with what your comfortable driving and as mentioned above the truggy is a more forgiving, faster RC.

Well depends on track.. With rough track I will definitely go with truggy. more forgiving and way easier to drive. However with buggy you can get better times if surface is flat and it's technical.

but personally my choice unless I am totally owning everyone else with truggy will be truggy over a buggy almost everywhere.

Lol seems that the choice is clear:)

todays new truggies like MBX6T, RC8, Losi 2.0 are so agile that even on very technical tracks they can be as fast or even faster than buggies.
buggy is prestige class ase buggy is much harder to drive but has no chance against truggy that is so easy to drive thanks to longer and wider stance with bigger wheels.

It really depends what track you run on. When the track is smooth with hard accelerations and brakings then buggy wins. If the track is bumpy then more stable truggy gets the advantage.

We used to have bad tracks or tracks on natural soil which got very bumpy during the raceday. Then truggies were a lot faster because rough bumpy track didn't influence them too much. And that was the only reason I run truggy ;) Now all our tracks are much better - better surface and the track lasts the whole raceday nicely. Now truggies are hardly ever faster!

And buggies brake harder, last better!

Check out the lap times on the specific track then decide!

+1 It depends on the track. Buggies will have faster lap times on clay tracks because they can corner faster, and trucks will have better laptimes on rough tracks for reasons described earlier. In any case, the higher the driver skill, the better the chance a buggy driver has at winning vs. the same skilled truggy driver.

+1 on the track but i am allways better with a buggy, just a personal preffrence

superek4 11.27.2009 03:57 AM

My track is rough n very Bad with grass. So I guess truggy is better.

i'd choose to race a truggy if i could, but buggy is much larger here with 40+ drivers per race while truggy have 10+. but if i had a choice i'd run truggy, but i'm pretty satisfied with my xray this far.

superek4 11.28.2009 02:20 AM

Yeah buggy is more popular every where dunno y

Truggy got more and more pupular but then started to fade off a bit. For an example here in Europe we don't have big truggy races. Ok, there are some semi-big races that have truggy, but even then its a secondary class. Neobuggy is buggy only, European championships is buggy only. If you do racing you race with buggies.

I don't know about US, you probably have there enough people to run whatever class comes - SC10 2WD, SC10 4WD etc ;) But here in Europe I think that because truggy didn't get official it started to fade away. On our tracks atleast driving buggy feels and looks more PRO. Running truggy is easier and looks less PRO ;)

Last clubrace we had only 3 nitro truggies compared with 8-9 electric 1:8 and ~15 nitro buggies, 10+ 1:10 open class, around 10 Large Scale gas.

superek4 11.28.2009 06:56 AM

Yes in US truggy is still popular, it not a big thing in everywhere but in Singapore we are trying to maintain the among of racers.

We started in Ep truggy n now Ep buggy we want to race 2 class instead of 1.

But I agreed buggy requires more skill to drive.

superek4 11.29.2009 08:51 AM

Raced my 3rd main with my x2 buggy vs truggy just can't out beat the truggy I endup 2nd only:(
