Which brushless for my e-maxx?

I currently own a Rustler with a Feigao 8s w/ Genesis Pro running 7 cells. I like the speed but want the 4wd of traction of the e-maxx. What BL combo would make my emaxx comparable to my rustler?

I'd prefer to run 14 cells, but could do 16. I won't run 12.

thank you

on 16 i would go for a 9xl.

and if your looking for speed, a 8xl would be in order.

is there something wrong with a 7xl on 14 cells?

Nothing wrong with a 7xl on 16 cells. It doesn't have the run time i like. Other than that it is great.

8xl with 16 cells would be a nice set up. It could get a nice rruntime and have plenty of power/speed.

Nothing is wrong with a 7XL on 14 or 16 cells. Its what I run on mine and she moves.

Ok, so help me understand this.

7xl on 14 cells is faster than 8xl on 14 cells and the 8xl runs longer.

But how does a 8xl on 16 cells compare to a 7xl on 14 cells? Speed and runtime? thank you

coolhandcountry 03.04.2006 07:48 PM

The 8xl will have more power on 16 than 14. The 7xl can be ran on 16. The 7xl doesn't have a long run time. How fast are looking to go?

I used to average about 10 min runtime with the 7xl.

40 is more than enough. I just want tons of torque for tire spinning fun in the dirt, but the ability to gear it so it can keep up with my BL rustler (8s on 7 cells, 14/84).

Also, which one will have longer runtime? 7xl with 14cells or 8xl with 16 cells? I'm assuming the 8xl since you said the 7xl doesn't have long runtimes.

coolhandcountry 03.04.2006 09:02 PM

The 8xl will have more runtime. I was getting some real good runtime on the 9xl. not so good on the 8xl. It has to be in between somewhere. I have not ran the 8xl personally. I have the 7xl and 9xl. 40mph is well in reach with the 8xl on 16 cells especially. I would guess 15-20 min runtime to.

Then the 8xl is perfect. Why does it seem most people us L and not xl motors? The benefits of the longer can seems so great.

New problem, where to get the Xl motors?

boss 302 03.04.2006 10:14 PM

Mike can get the xl motors
