$260 for a pair of 2S. Double yikes! Maybe I can sell a kidney or something.

Thats nothing, MA have some 1000c packs in the works and they will be waterproof too. So there!

Unsullied_Spy 12.01.2009 03:50 PM

Factory fresh cells and everything! I don't know how anyone can stay in business with those cells on the maket?

Wowsers, for that price they better be able to give hummers also ? But I'm sure they're worth every penny.

I heard they were going to be wireless too. Should save a ton on weight.

I would love to see any of the High C rated packs currently on the market back anything up. I questioned RCMarket in rctech about something said in one of the threads there and basically no way of backing what was said. This C rating war is going to backfire very fast when someone gets hurt trying to find out if the cell(s) are really capable of doing it.

good point!!

100C...gawd...but i think i'll stick to A123's if i ever need that kind of discharge!!

Unsullied_Spy 12.01.2009 07:31 PM

Have you seen how A123s hold their voltage at 100C discharge? I'd bet that these hold their voltage better.

Well... lets find out then :) Easiest way to get high current drain is to use 12V car headlight bulbs. Attach as many of them in parallel as needed to get the 30C, 40C or 50C current and see what heppens... Is there a data-logger that can handle 250A? Most go up to 150A max.

lutach 12.01.2009 07:57 PM

If TP sends me the 1S or 2S packs, I'll test them in my TC3 with my 200A sensored ESC and my 1.5T motor. The set up has brought my 2 2S 5000mAh 25C/50C (1000mAh) packs to 0.02V. I only know f one battery manufacturer that makes Lithium cells capable of 100C+ rates and they make cells mainly for the military. I've been trying to get some of their cells, but so far no luck.

Yes, but I think it's only available in German. It goes up to 400A.

PBO 12.01.2009 08:28 PM

Getting off topic but doesn't the Eagle Tree have a 300A expander?

BlackedOutREVO 12.02.2009 01:03 AM

Haha, I have one 50C pack, and one 40C pack. both 2s hard case 5000's from TP. I dont care what they actually put out, all I know is nothing else can keep up on the straight, or the infield with these lipos in touring car. They have got some mad power and dont fade off towards the end of the run. And they last a long time to. Ive had my 40C a while now. Im about to retire it though. Haha, I would be curious to see how they actually compare to there ratings though.

Lauri 12.02.2009 03:10 AM

But those TP LiPos have up to 6C charging allowed so they are something new! Even Hyperion 3G is up to 5C. Ok, maybe they are the same technologo cells but maybe TP new ones are something NEW...
