Amb problem on Ep 1/8 race?

I just had a race on last sun 1st & 2nd final was fine but till the 3rd final almost all amb & even club amb has problem reading.

Change several club amb still have problem even personal amb have problem. The signal is too low.

Funny thing is the gp cars has no problems? Their 6v batt power their servos n amb? Whereas our only powered amb n our voltage is ranging from 14.8 to 22.2v?

Could it be electrial interferals? Never happened before for the whole year till now & it's 7 cars.

Sounds like a problem with the track, not the transponders. For 7 of them to go bad at the same time seems pretty fishy to me.

But the gps can work?

The gas cars have their transponders mounted in the most optimal position if the transponder mounts that the manufacturers put on the cars are used. Many of the electric conversions don't have a dedicated mount for the transponders and they are placed in a less than optimal position which causes them the have an effectively weaker signal even though they seem to be working properly. Make sure the transponders are not mounted above an aluminum plate or CF plate, near the Rx or on top of the servo, and are mounted so they are flat parallel to the ground, not on their edge. All of these things will weaken the effective signal.

Most of the e-1/8 cars I see have the transponder mounted in one of the poor positions I just mentioned, and they work just fine as long as the tracks AMB system is working optimally. But as soon as there is a slight problem at the track, the weak signals will be the first to have issues which is probably why your e-conversions are having more issues than the gas cars.

Try moving your transponder out to the side above the mud guard rather than over the aluminum chassis.

Mine was mounted flat down & for the whole year nothing went wrong till now.the first 2 mains was ok also.

I can't tell you for sure what the problem is. I can only make sugestions for things you can look at. It's going to take some detective work on your part to figure it out.

If 7 cars transponders all stopped working at the same time I would personally start with looking at the tracks AMB set up. But that's just me. Then llol at the 7 cars to see if there might be something common beteween them that could cause it.

Let us know what you figure out when you get it solved. I'm sure we can all learn from it.
