Diff noise

Someone please help me quiet down the stock diffs in my GTP II. I finally got it running but it is so d@mn loud. And by the way, the Tork 2200 at full throttle, lifts the front of the car. And final question...how long will my Mamba 7700 last on 3s?

The K series diffs in the gtp are some of the worst 1/8 scale diffs. If you have not shimmed them and they are noisy, you most likely need to replace the ring and pinion. And then shim them perfectly.

upon further review...it is the center spur/pinion gear. The mesh is perfect as far as I can see...just can't understand why it is so noisy. I supposed I just might be used to metal to plastic spur mesh and not metal to metal.

Ahh, you can replace the center spur with a plastic gear. Not sure of the number, but a search on tower hobbies for "49t ofna" should bring it up. I used thos gear with both of my gtps and it makes it alot quiter. Gear is wide so it does last well.

I will be checking my local hobby store tomorrow. I will also see how much rubber can I smoke of the tires on a few test runs.
