Rockers definitions, long and progressive. help
3 Attachment(s)
I have a custom build 1/5 that I want to switch to horizontal shocks using rockers like the revo. I think I need Progressive and not the long travel for my on road .
Is there an expert on ROCKERS ? WHat Rocker options are there and for what use ? Obviously long rockers are for long travel suspension thank you last PIC is mine |
i know that you will need a lot stronger shocks/springs because of the mechanical advantage the rockers give you.
longer travel is possible because of the mechanical advantage and progressive hardness is also possible if you are a guru at CAD or can get your head around the scientific shape of the rockers. them pics are real perdy there :mdr: |

I thought my Large Losi 8 shocks would be overkill, no? or are you saying I need stronger shocks than the revo ? I dont need long travel since it's a street car any recommendations |
First thing you should do is measure the amount of travel that you want to have - then equate that to what ever Rocker the revo has that matches best.

hmmmm...just had a brain fart...
you need bugger all travel right? now...if you get the traxxas long travel rockers for the revo. then put them in backwards, this will allow you to use the 8ight shocks as the travel on the shock side will be greater, but the travel on the pushrod side wont be very much, and since you dont need much then it should be fine. |
