HobbyCity shipping, school me.

I think I want some cheap batteries and I think I want them quick. Christmas present for a cousin, I'm still weary of them for myself, so this is a nice experiment. I can get THESE on time because they are in the US warehouse(right?, right?), but they don't really suit his needs.

So, can I order in stock lipos from China and expect them to be here before christmas without paying for expensive shipping?

Thanks,
Zack

Doubt you can get them in time for christmas using the slow method for shipping. If you pay the extra for EMS, it will. Slow shipping is even slower right now due to X-mas and all the extra orders they are processing.

well...when I ordered from them 2 months ago I paid for 2 batts. to ship and paid the higher shipping and they arrived in 7 days.

Yes, but this is X-mas time and the reports are that the slow shipping method is 4 or more times slower.

I mean really I know nothing about it. What are the shipping options: names, suggested arrival date, actually arrival w/christmas and the like, charges. Other options for cheap batteries under 40 dollars for my little cousin Michael with a brushed 2s only system on a XXXT.

easy - airmail - takes ages
registered airmal - takes ages - during year 14days, now forever
EMS - normally 2-5 days, now 10-14 days - the only chance to get it before holidays if you are lucky.

I got an e-mail from HobbyCity the other day stating that even EMS shipping may take an extra week or more because of the huge surge in shipping this time of year.

HC has a slow Xmas shipping warning on their forum. even in september and october my packs took two weeks to arrive me.

I just posted in the other thread regarding HobbyCity shipping. I ordered on Dec. 10th with EMS Express shipping; the order shipped on the 11th and arrived on the 13th to U.S. Customs. So we'll see how long customs takes in customs (anywhere from 3-8 days in my personal experience), but other than that EMS Express seems to be a safe bet even into the "holiday rush"
