issues with ps3 and new HD tv..
 

well ok.. i got a Emerson PL-P42W-10A black friday special from wal-mart.. and i cannot get my ps3 to read the tv.. i've did everything i could.. tried to change it manually and everything i did the reset av settings thing and all (where u turn off your ps3 and then push and hold it on/off button till it beeps 1 time indicating that it has changed the av settings then a 2nd beep turning the system off) i cannot get anything to work.. i've been up for 2 hours trying to get it to work.. and i'm giving up very pissed off.. (btw this is a 42'' Plasma compared to my 27'' cable tv..) HELP ME IF YOU CAN!!

I should say i had it on HDMI before then house got struck by lightning then had to go back to the 3 prongs (red,white,yellow) and im trying to go back to HDMI

Uh, if your house just got zapped by lighting, good chance your TV took a hit and the HDMI port may be fried.

Need to know more - how exactly is it hooked up now? I agree with Freeze - if you had to switch to analog from HDMI, why do you think you can use HDMI now? Did you get something fixed?

Id try plugging the PS3 into your old TV and see if it still works, mine crapped out on the HD tv with hdmi cable, I ran it analog and switched the input to av2 and it worked for 3 hours then crapped again, tried it on another TV and nothing. I left it alone for a month and then picked it up shook it and brought it into the office with me to look up sony out of warranty repair ($150 flat rate) I said Bah Ill just buy a new slim, but I went and plugged it into HDMI 2 on my HD TV held the button the 5 seconds till it beeped and the bitch came back to life. Been playing call of duty for hours/watching blue ray. I think me having it infront of the PC seeing me look up Sony scared it into working. Try verbal threats and shaking it LOL

well all of you are wrong.. i just needed to restore default settings..:lol: i contacted sony twice about it.. and of course the guy knew what to do!! the woman was clueless.. she said its your tv i said it works with the freakin HDMI cable box i have! with the same HDMI CORD.. she said contact the ppl for the tv.. the said its sonys fault so i call them back.. and the old dude was laughing at me cause i told him HE WAST THE BOMB after he had me restore default settings..

oh and this is a brand new tv.. brand new hdmi cord.. and the hdmi output on the ps3 worked after it got "stung" by lightning.. so it had to be the PS3.. but anyways its fixed and now im going get my fix of GTA4 IN HD!! woot :party::yipi:
