Convert you Dx2.0 to a dx3.0 free
Was searching around and ended up finding this neat little trick. The only difference between the 2.0 and the 3.0 is the placement of one 1ohm resistor.
By removing this resistor entirely you gain the computer features of the 3.0 -4 model memory -Model naming Features like -Deadbanding (for those poor nitros) -exponential curves -Adjustable frame rate - and the list goes on By taking that same resistor and moving it to a different spot on the board you get the 3rd channel. I wanted the four model memory and didnt have a soldering iron tip fine enough to resolder the resistor to the board so i just plucked it off with a screwdriver:lol: so my radio has all the computer features of the 3.0 Quote:

Thats cool... May have to try that... Anybody know where I can can a new antenna (wire, mast and all) for a 2.0? My kid knocked my radio outta the back of the truck last bash session and the antenna broke off tearing the wire in half... Oopsie!

Nice find Ben! Time to scour ebay for a dx2.0......

I called Spektrum, and their wonderful customer service guy told me that I had to send it in for them to repair - If I tried to repair it myself, I WOULD void my warranty because the installation of the antenna is VERY critical to the performance of the radio (the warranty wouldn't cover the cost of the repairing the antenna BTW). Price, minimum 75 dollars, plus parts, plus shipping. I took the thing apart, and the antenna is held on by a nut on a post. I put it back in place, superglued the plastic that broke, and its run great ever since. |

Not quite the 3.99 that Marvin mentions, but I believe this antenna is the same one used in the DX 2.0 and 3.0

I have seen them on ebay as well too.

When I got mine (though that was around 10 months ago, they were £3.99 (GBP) ~ which at the time, the exchange rate was around 2 USD to 1 GBP, so that's $8 already. Add the recentish price rises, and you have the $10

so can you just move the resistor over 1 spot??

i did this mod ages ago before i got my DX3s.
really cool idea!! but there is a DX2s out now and i bet the same principle applies!! |
