10.5T on 3s
 

The 10.5 im looking at has similar numbers to the novaks, 4200kv. In a slash with 3s lipo, would this be too much. ATM my CC4600 with stock gearing & 2s lipo, gets quite hot. I know alot of you say the CC motors are a little under sized for the slash. But i still want to be able to use this on 2s, & i know the 10.5 will give me good power with stock gearing on 2s...

I would honestly run the VXL motor. Its a beast on 2s and 3s. MPH is made up in gearing.

I ran a 17.5 on 4s in a Slash with no problems

I run a 8.5 in my Pede, on 3s, and it does fine. I like it alot for it's low torque . Geared for a similar speed as a VXL, around 50ish, it actually runs cooler. But my Slash runs a HV 4.5. IMO It's a little over kill.

Traxxas class the VXL motor as a 10turn, so the race comitee wont let me run it...

I dont want to have to make a dramatic change in gearing going from 2s to 3s.

On 3s, the 10.5 will be running @ around 45000rpm

13.5 on 3s, 36000rpm, a little more than 4600 on 2s....
