repairing some damage servos?
hey guys i have the airtronics 94359 and the futaba s9451 servo and both need a few repairs done to them..
heres my question on the futaba servo the only piece broken is the plastic/delrin? piece shown here http://cgi.ebay.com/Futaba-SERVO-GEA...item5ad54e323b the bottom right peice. now i dont feel like spending 25 bucks to get that one thing. anyone know where i can order just the white piece? ive checked out all my other servos (probably 10 others) and none of them fit.. second ? is where can i find the gear set for the airtronics servo? ive googled it and didnt find it. also went on ebay and they didnt have anything.. i dont feel like selling them broken cause i doubt theyd make any money and i do want one of them to work for my stamede and while i am in the servo business...... would it just be better to buy a servo like this http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store.../15.5kg/.16sec instead of spending 25 on the gear set over 400 ounces of torque and pretty quick responce.--unless i did the calculations wrong  i need to place an order on hobbycity so might as well add 12 bucks to the order and get a nice servo.. thanks for any help guys |
I would personally rebuild it. For $25- you have an almost new servo. I do understand the frustration of the cost for a $1- part. Same thing happened to me several times till I switched brands.

AFAIK, servo makers only sell the gears in sets, no single gears.
That HC servo is cheap, but your calculations are wrong, it is only 215oz/in (1kg/cm = 13.88 oz/in), still decent for the price. |
i googled 17kg to ounces but apparently i needa google 17kg/cm to ounces?
anyways im sure your right that it is just a cheap servo. ill be ordering the futaba gear set sometime this week. thanks |
