Muggy Stolen
A few weeks ago I was out testing my Muggy and put it in the back of my car when it tossed the pinion gear....that was the last I saw of it. I was out with some friends and we went to Wal Mart and then out to one of their places to hang out for a while and I'm sure the car was locked the whole time but it went missing. I have been looking everywhere for it but it hasn't come up, even in pawn shops. The police are too useless to even look for it, they took my report and just filed it away. Looks like I'm in the market for a new truck :( I really liked the Muggy, it was extremely durable and handled well and I'd like to get another truck like it. I'm looking at Savages and LSTs on eBay, I know they don't handle like a Muggy but they've been discontinued (if someone has one for sale, PM me). I always figured the end of that truck would be when I could no longer find parts for it and couldn't jerry-rig something that would work anymore and have to replace it, looks like that won't be happening.

Have you checked ebay for muggys?
Maybe you find your own there. No pun intended, you then could claim it to be yours with ebay, since you probably have witnesses that it's your truck and the filed police report. Otherwise: I feel with you, hate people who steal other peoples stuff! I can understand, not approve(!), if someone steals food to not starve or things like that. But if somebody just enriches him/herself...:diablo: |
And it had your 1717 in it !? That's gotta hurt. Sorry to hear your misfortune Sully:bad::grrrrrr::no:

Here's a place to buy a new Muggy:

Sorry to hear of your loss...many years ago while I was in the middle of a race, someone stole my spare charger, tires and other tools out of my pit area.
Hard to believe people go to that low of a level |
Sorry to hear that, unfortunately that's what society is amounting to now, petty theft, fraud etc are all up as are acts of violence, society is becoming more politically correct and as such suddenly the thieves are the victims because they weren't hugged as a kid or something. Hopefully Karma steps in on this one because it seems society and/or law enforcement won't. There is simply no deterrant by way of punishments against stealing now so these animals simply take what they want.

well if they are dumb enough to try and sell it on ebay im sure someone here will see it, especially us muggy guys. but something so one of a kind, there is a good chance they will slip up and get caught, whats the point of having something like that if u cant show it off, do u think it was a friend or a friend of a friend? especially if it was locked up.

I was with a friend of mine that works at the LHS, and he's a really straight-up guy. He wouldn't have stolen it and if he sees it come through the LHS he'd probably call me before he calls the cops. I've got some pics I can post up, really pissed that it got stolen. I've checked eBay and local pawn shops looking for it, no luck so far.

If the thief has any sense, they will sell it in parts. While looking on ebay, craigslist, etc for your Muggy, also look for parts lots.

That motor will look really suspicous being sold since they are so newly released,(espcially with shaft mod) that should raise some flags real quick.
Soo, if this dumb ass tries to unload it soon hopefully you'll get wind and catch the filthy bastard. Preferably redhanded I'm sure, put the douche to sleep the hard way. Condolences |
That sucks man. The only good luck I've had in the last few months was when my car was broken into, my truck wasn't stolen. The police are pretty useless. Best of luck getting it back, but I've enough things stolen out of my car to know not to wait around for it to happen.
I hate thieves. May their balls be dipped in boiling oil. |

Try craigslist? Make a wanted ad on craigslist saying you have cash in hand and you want to buy either a 1717 or that you are looking for a Muggy. If you say you are looking for both it might be a little fishy and chances are the person who stole it won't know what the 1717. Is the truck branded at all so whoever might sell it would call it whatever it's branded?
I have a friend that had a bike stolen and did just this and apparently the person who stole it was on craigslist trying to find people to sell it to without actually posting an ad that he had it. He actually got his bike back. |
