Has anyone ever attended?

I'm really keen to go because of the speed appeal of course but I've heard it's very friendly, relatively informal, a whole lot of fun...and bright! It's a very long way to go though, for me anyway

Somebody must have a few stories to tweak my interest further

If you have not seen it yet, get a copy of 'The Worlds Fastest Indian'. A movie that will inspire you to check out Bonneville.
I have seen the move and read a lot about the fabled salt and would go in a heartbeat if family and money would let me.

One of the best movies I've seen. I hope to one day be part of such an event.
