CC MMM is not compatible with Futaba R113IP

Hi,

It seems to be confirmed by CC that the R113IP receiver is not compatible with the CC MMM. More info in this thread: http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23663

I posted this message to avoid others having the same negative experience I had while overlooking the mentioned thread.

Futaba's R113IP does not conform to industry standards.

There are reasons there are standards in this industry. Futaba chose to ignore the standards when they designed the R113IP.

The decision to not change our design was based on the fact that high power RC equipment (like the MMM) is sensitive to noise.
Futaba's receiver design is defective -- it doesn't allow enough signal to noise ratio on the receiver line to ensure safe operation.

We made the decision consciously and deliberately. I'm sorry you don't agree with the decision.

We feel safety is important, and therefore chose not to compromise our design to accommodate a defective design from another manufacturer.

The correct course of action on your part would be to contact Futaba, and ask them why they chose to produce a receiver that doesn't conform to accepted standards, and ask them to fix their design.

I have kept up with this problem since the begining and would just like to know if you ever contacted Futaba on this problem and what was their response?

I noticed the same thing with a Futaba system a buddy has, it didn't work with some servos do to some signaling differences in the Futaba that were non-standard. I certainly like Futaba's 3 and 4PK systems but I certainly think twice before purchasing anything from them due to the potential challenges.

Unlike other industries where the non-standard solution can win out because of the market opportunity I do not see the business case for Castle or any other company to change things to satisfy an extremely small number and risk their customers at large.

This seems like a futaba problem not castle's, nor do i blame them for not going too far out of their way to make it work, i do give castle props for looking into to possibly find a easy solution. thats all i could ask of them, the rest is up to futaba at this point
