hot bodies diffs worth it?

are the hot bodies diffs for brushless emaxx 8Xl or 9XL motors suitable like the supermaxx spider diffs?I'm talking about the ones for sale here ,thanks

Yes, they are well worth it and imho better than the Supermaxx. The Supermaxx are nice but i like the Hot Bodies because there more helical cut and there also hardened (make sure to the get PRO version).

thanks would it fit the bulks,do i need to change the gearing?where can i find and buy the pro version? any link? thank you

mike has the pro and standard. the standard are like only a few dollars less (literally). the standard arent hardened so the pro is the way to go. also, they come with the bearings, pinion, and everything you will need for them to fit the faslane hybrids.

you need to know that the HB's are 10/43 instead of 13/43.

stampy 03.13.2006 03:54 AM

"thead jack" hehe. would they fit in a t-emaxx diff housing?

Serum 03.13.2006 05:01 AM

Nope, you need a 1/8th conversion, such as the UE diffhouses or the FLM bulkless for 1/8th gears.

stampy 03.13.2006 05:05 AM

lame :012: ya i cant run bulkless sense my truck is custom, and the ue diffhousings are just to pricey :002:

Stampy, the Nova 7075 cups are really good value($20 each),come in 2 or 3mm holes for ring gear. These with some aluminium housings (integy are 25$ each) would add alot of strength.

im going to need a healthy diff to take a 9xl or 1950 on 6s so ill need 1/8 gears. i like the hardened ones cause well there better lol and ill pay the money for them but i refuse to pay 120 plus ship for some ue diff housings  . and ue is prolly the only company that makes a diff housing that holds 1/8 gears and will fit in a e/tmaxx hu?

squeeforever 03.13.2006 07:09 PM

there was one other company a few years ago. i dont however remember what the name of the company was. the housings were kinda boxy and the picture i saw of them were blue and purple. ill try and see if i can find the info in my old rc car action book.

stampy 03.14.2006 06:02 PM

do the ue alum cups work with the hotbodies spyders and ring pinion

squeeforever 03.14.2006 06:13 PM

the hot bodies are 6 spyders and the ue aluminum cups are for 8 spyders. actually the cups of the hb are very tuff. they wouldnt be giving out. i think the spyders would first.

stampy 03.14.2006 06:16 PM

haha ya i forgot the 6spyder ue diff uses a plastic cup :027:

Trophy Class RC was the other company that made the "boxy" diff cases to hold the 1/8 diffs. I haven't seen them in a while. They were heavy, though and didn't allow the diffs to be turned over(no big deal with sensorless brushless). :)
