New Brushless Selector Guide
Please visit our home page and check out our new Brushless Setup Guide. There is a beginner as well as an advanced interface that was designed to help make buying an appropriate brushless setup easier than ever. We will add more vehicle data as time goes on as well - if you have a vehicle but it isn't in the "menu", let us know the details and we can add it.
Also, any experienced users that would like to "take it for a spin" are encouraged to do so - we look forward to feedback and will continue to tweak and improve the program as needed. Brian's time, knowledge and ability to interpret my thoughts into this guide, as well as his own are what truly made this possible. Thanks a ton for your persistence and hard work on this project, Brian - you are the man! Monster EDIT: There are two versions: "Basic" and "Advanced". The basic version will auto-select a "canned" runtime and voltage depending on how a specific vehicle is to be used (bashing, racing, bashing and racing). It will then suggest suitable motor/ESC combos and battery spec. The advanced version gives the customer much more control over all aspects of the system, but does require more knowledge. Each version simply limits choices that are suitable. At the end of each, the customer can click on links for the products suggested to make selection easier. The accuracy of these tools depends greatly on the various data stored; motor, esc, bec, tire, vehicle, etc. Therefore, if people see something which is incorrect, please post the correct values in this thread. Once Mike or I verify the data, one of us will edit the data accordingly. For vehicle data, we need the following: - Model. Company and model name and/or number - Vehicle Type. buggy, truggy, MT, etc - Scale. 1/8, 1/10, etc - 2 or 4 WD - Spur gear Tooth Count - Gear Pitch - Total Transmission Ratio. Use highest precision possible - Differential Ratio. Use highest precision possible - Tire Diameter in inches - Vehicle Weight (lbs). Does NOT included motor, esc, battery, or tires. - Tire Weight for each tire, in grams For motor data, we need the following: - Company - Model name/number - Max kv - Max RPM - Shaft Diameter in mm For motor/esc combo data, we need the following: - Company and model name/number - ESC max continuous amp rating - ESC max volt rating - If the BEC is linear, switching, or opto (none). - Motor kv - Max motor RPM - Motor Shaft Diameter in mm For esc data, we need the following: - Company and model name/number - ESC max continuous amp rating - ESC max volt rating - If the BEC is linear, switching, or opto (none). For tire data, we need the following: - Company and model name/number - Scale. 1/8, 1/10, etc - Type. buggy, truggy, MT, etc - Tire diameter in inches - Tire weight for each tire in grams Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide! |

Great idea. I found a bug though- there are no suggestions for a bashing setup for a Traxxas Rustler. :oh: Ok maybe it's not a bug but at least the VXL system should be listed.

The x2 truggy has been added to the menu - thanks for the info. Does the x2 buggy have a 48t spur or a 46t spur - would like to add the buggy as well. :)
