12020 question

I am installing at 12020, UBEC with plans for an 8XL when they are in stock.

Set up thus far: MIP CVD, Steel Idler Gear, Strobe Slipper, Power stroke Shocks - other wise a stock E-Maxx including radio and receiver. 12-14 cells.

questions:

I found the receiver pack jumper, but I can not find the BEC jumper. The info I have says it is behing the reciver jumper, but I can't find it. Do I need to trim back the shrink wrap? Where is it located? Will the void the warrantee?

What is the purpose of the receiver pack? Is it needed?

Will this work with the stock radio system?

Thanks!

There is two jumpers on it. One red or purplish one for programming. The other is under the shrink and back a ways from that one. It is black in color.

The BEC jumper is black. I'm thinking you have found the BEC Jumper, and think it is something else. Like Coolhand said, there is only 2 jumpers on the Warrior controllers. If you have removed the black one, then you have disabled the BEC, so you will need to use a reciever pack or a UBEC. Here is about where the Black Jumper is on the underside of my 9920:

The purpose of the Reciever pack is to power the servos and ESC when there are too many or too few cells for the ESC to make 6v for the servos. The reciever pack is just a UBEC, only you have to charge it every-once-in-a-while.

Hope this helps,
Brijar!!!

Brijar did you just say you have to charge a UBEC every once-in-a-while? This is not true, becuase it feeds off the main batteries, very nice drawing there, gotta give you props for that. Thats exactly where the black jumper is.

He was refering to a receiver pack slyvester.

Wow! Thanks for all the replies. It all makes sense! I will cut back the shrink wrap.
