mamba max pro?

hi, i have a 3.3 revo converted to electric running a 16.8 volt emaxx trans, i only bash and was wondering if the mamba max pro esc and motor, would be a decent choice, i dont want to run the mamba monster and have constant breakage, i just want reliable power without much maintenance, and as long of run times as possible. i will be running lipo battery's, what kv motor would you recomend?

I would suggest the MMM esc since this is a full size MT, but if you want tamer power then go for the 1800kv 1512 NeuCastle motor- less driveline shredding torque than the 1515 2200kv motor but it will still be powerful enough to be fun on 4s lipo, or lots of fun on 5-6s depending on what you want to achieve exactly. Other motor choices would be something like a feigao 9L on 4s lipo, or a neu 1512/2.5D/F (2050kv)- there is a sale on at Neu at the moment: http://www.neumotors.com/store/page10/page10.html

1512/2D/F (2550kv) would be a bit more speed, though you would gear down a bit more to generate more torque- keep it pegged to 35-40mph generally.

would you run the 1800kv 1512 NeuCastle motor on a mmm, or mm pro? i see the brushless emaxx uses the mmm combo. i plan on running 4s lipo as you said. any idea on run time estimate? this will be my first brushless build, are the newcastle motors waterproof?

Brushless motors in general are waterproof so long as you clean them afterwards and keep the bearings lubed. No matter what motor you choose I would recomend the MMM for an esc, it is a very solid and reliable esc. Runtime will depend on your batteries, grearing, driving style, weight, tires, etc.....There are many variables that contribute to your runtime or lack of. The MMM 2200kv is most likely your best choice, if it's to fast, gear it down which will also increse your runtime. When you decide you want more speed hook it up to 6s lipo and let it rip!

ok thanks for the help, just figured the max pro on 4s or 6s would be powerful enough for my speed goal of 35-40. i will order up the mmm.
