Interesting break!

looks like your truck cant bottom out because of the springs, is that right?

if it cant bottom out all that energy has to go somewhere, just be glad it was something cheep this time

jokerjustin 01.27.2010 09:20 AM

no it can bottom out... it just takes a good amount of effort to do it.. thats my custom dual rate setup  it actually works quite well... i was thinking this was caused because i have such high oil 100wt and stiff springs that the rocker couldnt take the force

bigsteel 01.27.2010 09:32 AM

wow,i have never broken a rocker arm, even on the biggest jumps! nicely done :D ,cool spring setup though!--josh

same here...i have only heard on the grapevine about broken rocker's.
our RC club did a demonstration on tuesday and since i had a BL revo i was the backflip king LOL

quad backflips is about my limit though

note to all revo operators!!
them little driveshaft dust boots are more important than you think!
i tore mine as usual a while back (2 weeks), this caused the shaft to bind up and now allow it to slide. that put pressure on the diff main bearing, turned that into powdered bearing.
the now sloppy diff then stripped it's ring gear.
all because of a silly torn boot!
btw...quad backflips rock

after watching that video a few times does it seem like im bottoming out way to hard?

shaunjohnson 01.29.2010 06:51 AM

just realised!
another authentic converted revo

how often do you jump it

i have spent alot of time jumping mine and most brakes i have had were more from stress fractures than from one bad landing, that may have been what happened to you.

on a side note, i have to drop my platinum from 14-15 feet before it bottoms out

jokerjustin 01.29.2010 09:11 AM

semi what oil are you using? im using 70wt with custom variable pistons... and it will bottom out at around 3ft =(

Bondonutz 01.29.2010 06:24 PM

If you breaker Rockers, check the posts !

I didn't break a rocker and check this out.

I was installing LST2 diffs into my second E-Revo and found this while dismantleing the front bulkhead. :surprised:

it sounds like you have something wrong, my truck is alittle lighter that average but not enough to make that big of a difference

I'm using 50w with variable pistons, p2 rockers, and revo response tires

on a revo platinum with a vantage carbon 3.3 chassis
