Dead RX8 in the middle of a main

Not sure what happened, but I race at a pretty small indoor track with my truggy on 4s. I have the 1700kv system and am running a 17T long shank pinion. It runs super cool and I can hold the motor can and esc in a closed fist without getting too warm. I also raced this at a large outdoor track in Texas without issue. Overall I am very very happy with this setup, it has been nothing but awesome for me until now.

It died last night in the Main after two heats. I don't run it very hard on the small track, only sees full throttle, if I even get on it, on the small straight. I took the triple (small, about 14 feet from first to third jump) and landed it kinda rough but on all four. Lost power, no lights, no nothing. Batts have charge, all wires are good and connected, switch is intact and fine, bullets are connected, no broken parts. The Rx still flashes blue every few seconds, but it doesn't have power going to it or the servos. This makes me believe that the board fried or something came loose inside.

Advice? Hints? Tips? Will Tekin warranty this or anything? I'd rather not have to buy another one since I was using this one as it should be used. If I do, I hope Tekin still does that Military discount, I could really use it right now it seems.

I think their 60% off of list price to active duty servicemembers is still active. I just emailed Mr Jim Campbell using my military email account asking for clarification. Their discount is truly marvelous considering 60% off from list price is a very substantial savings and twice as much as Castle offers to active duty military members.

Thanks Tekin!!!!!

I'll let you know as soon as I get a response him.

This is the auto-reply I got from him:
I will be out of the office until Tuesday, Feb 2. We will be at the Snowbird Nationals in FL. I will be checking emails when possible.

That's good, hopefully this is an easy fix or they'll make it easy enough :mdr: Thanks for sending that email.

I'll email you the complete pricelist later on this evening. I have to go back to the ship to access my military email to get the complete price list. Please be aware that the list is not for everyone to see.

I'm going to the track and play since it's about 55F here right now (Sunday @ 11:00 a.m.)

CHeck your pm.

Thanks George, I really appreciate it. Nobody but me and other military members will see this pricing. I wish I would have known Tekin was in McCall, Idaho. I would have visited them when I was there last year.

Just got home an hour ago. I had a blast running the X2 buggy and Kyosho trug. I still have to dial in the rear springs for the trug. There are more and more sailors joing the club so it's a good thing.

Anyway, I got the list. PM me your email address so I can send it to you.

Sent you my address.

1/8 scale is where it's at, can't stay away from it! :mdr:

Just send it in they will fix it.

gtxracer 02.01.2010 07:18 PM

Yup, that's what I'm going to do. I called them today and will send it off tomorrow.

Anyone know of a typical turnaround for a RX8? I forgot to ask before they closed for the day and will be anxious to run it in my new truggy. I might need to find someone locally with a MMM or RX8 that I can borrow.
