extended chassis vs. reg
I have been thinking of going to an extended chassis. what is the diff between the FLH and the gmaxx ext kit?
Gmaxx has lower CG than the FLM, better for racing, both chassis are extended. If you are a basher i would go with the FLM, wanna race, go with Gmaxx.
i see, thanks. what about compatibility as far as parts fitting well, or having to mod?
I have Gmaxx Chassis, went together flawless, dont know about FLM.
Parts might need some minor mods to fit the FLM chassis. BTY, if I put the chassis extension in the Gmaxx chassis, will it be longer than the FLM?
I dont know, but the FLM is 35mm longer than stock, I think.
Gmaxx adds over an inch.
Don't think so. The FLM chassis extends thw wheelbase by 35mm, and the gorillamaxx is just over 1 inch (25.4mm).
i havent had experience with the FLM but i like the gorillamaxx one because of the low cg and it is pretty tough. It goes together well and i didnt have any fit or finish problems.
Then, they'll be equal in length. Right?
Pretty much, yeah
I love my FLM extended LCG Savage chassis, and the parts finish was perfect, no mods neccessary to put it together. Also, I would highly reccommend an extended version over just a reg. one because of the added stability, I know my Savage launches harder because of the 1.6" longer wheelbase.
thanks, but you guys aren't helping me decide!!! HAHAHAHAAHA, they both sound good....maybe i'll get both? hmmmmmmmm inquiring minds....
Well I have had both. If you planning on more than 16 cells the gmaxx is better. For all around bashing the flm is one tough chassis. The gmaxx is not weak either. The gmaxx extension is 30 mm longer than stock gmaxx. The flm is 35 mm longer than stock. The stock gmaxx is 1/4 in longer than a stock chassis. They are close enough that you don't have to change body mount holes for bodies to interchange. The gmaxx wheelies a little less cause of low cog.
i would go with the gmaxx if i was you but thats just me
