bit by the heli bug. HARD.
 

so, 98% of these stories start the same way. my brother and i got a cheapo r/c heli - the little micro 2 channel ones that go forward and backward, and turn left and right. we had a blast over christmas break with them, and my avalanche heli addiction starts.

since then, i now:
-bought a spektrum DX6i
-bought a blade mcx s300 (with lots of add on mods to make it much more of a stable rocket than it was stock)
-bought a used blade CX3. just more of a scale flier
-bought a used blade MSR (as i get better with CP birds, i get better with this little speed demon)
-sold my blade CP+ and bought 2 used blade 400's
-just got a toshiba satellite laptop and the phoenix flight sim to practice. i need a lot more too, lol

i'm getting good enough on the sim to have the balls to take my blade 400 out once it gets nicer here. the plan is to get good enough with that, and eventually get a monster brushless T-Rex 600e. :diablo:

I got a blade msr for christmas. I love that little heli. It is a blast to fly!

it is a blast....but my house isn't big enough to fly it in. either that or i'm not good enough with FFF in small spaces. i keep getting in trouble bouncing it off heads, lamps, computers etc. lol

I am surprised how durable the msr is. I have broken some small parts, but it has taken numerous hard hits. :lol: I have even taken it to our indoor carpet track to play with when my other lipos are charging. It is nice flying in a larger space because you can try things that you normally wouldn’t try in tighter conditions. It is surprisingly fast!

Just traded a slash for a pheonix sim setup with a 5e.

i like the phoenix sim, as it has all the models i have, but i'm a bit disappointed in the training portion. just some videos showing what you should do. realflight g5 at least has hands-on practice sessions. and bullet-shooting dog fighting!

My boss at the hobby shop has a Trex 600 . It flys on 6s lipo & is BAD ass :smile:. Thank's again for giving up your avatar to me .

the msr with the links moved with absoutlely HAUL, im big into helis but i never had my own sim, im played on the ones in hobby town here and there but if you can fly the decent on the sim then what are you waiting for

take the blade 400 for a spin, they are very easy to fly when setup well (it usually takes longer to learn how to properly setup and build your helis than it does to fly them)

i sold my blade 400 months ago and built a t-rex 450ra but i have never flown it, i fly my MSR when ever i feel the need and to fly my big helis it takes up alot of time... but come summer ill be able to take my big helis to the track with me and fly them when im not practicing...

speaking of the 600s, one day i was at mikes and some heli guys were over on the flying pad and flying over the onroad track with some 250s and 400s an little micros and im driving on the offroad track and all of a sudden this ROAR starts up and EVERYONE stopped what they are doing (driving, wrenching, walking, anything) and just stared as the huge beast flew.... big electric helis are awesome, but ill never shell out for one.

let me know if your boss ever wants to sell his trex. :lol:
and no problem at all. i've been away from here for a while...glad to see you still have it.

i made my own training gear for my b400(s)... as soon as i can operate the rx outside without my fingers going numb after 2 minutes, i'll have it out. the sim is great because while i'm pretty good at hovering now, i can try different tricks and get good at them. i have a feeling i'll use it a lot, even when i'm better at CP flying.

the good thing is that i have a pretty good community in my area - a few guys have years and years of experience and are very willing to help anyone out. there's a community college nearby with a big field they all fly at.

ive had nothign but trouble with training gear on helis i found they are much more stable and consistant flying them clean. Youll be alot more cautious when first flying which is a good thing.

Have you guys heard anything about the Hobbyking Helli kits they look nice and cheep.

I'm thinking about moving out of the Blade 400 into a Kong 450 kit?

The MSR is my simulator.

I too am a heli addict, in fact, I've brought mine out of the drawer, dusted them off, and now need a new 4in1 for my ESky HBFP, and currently flying my little ESky Lama V4..

The things are a blast, but I doubt they're for me, getting the nose-in and side-in and such orientation is a bit tricky.
