Inferno GT2 Battery Tray
Has anyone bought and installed this tray?
I would love to see a picture of it before I buy one. Thank you in advance. |
Same here.

Ask and you shall receive. The tray is built on the same concept as the MBX6 and 808 trays in that is is a direct bolt on and is designed to allow wire routing under it, as well as ESC mounting in the rear. The pictures show the whole car converted with all RC-monster parts - 2 speed adapter and gears, double servo plate, battery tray and kyosho motor mount. :)

Mike, what specifically is the setup (motor, gears, lipo, etc..) ?
|
The car has the Castle MMM 2200Kv combo with the 2 speed adapter and 17/23 gears using a 4s Lipo(4200mah 35c Hyperion G3) and Ofna foam tires.

Motor and esc run cold ?
The shift point to second speed must to be changed ? Thanks |
Heat is not an issue with this setup - the shift point usually requires tuning based on the track/bash spot. The ST-RR brakes work better than the stock setup, too(a worth-while change for real stopping power).
|
Ok Mike, I asked about shift point because my fear is that the motor torque can destroy transmission.
What do you think? |
Yes - the 2nd gear can be destroyed rather easily, actually. The original Gt tranny works better, as there is only 3 tooth difference between 1st and second(doesn't hit as hard). I set the shift point fairly low(shifts early) to minimize the damage. :)
|
ok, then what better 2 speed setup do you recommend for my Inferno GT1 to minimize the damage ?
|
The GT1 tranny works better than the GT2 tranny.
|
Ok Mike, I hold the original GT1 tranny.
But, what pinions to buy for to have high speed and low heat ? |
17/20 would be a good place to start. :)
|
Even with the GT1 tranny is recommended to set the shift point fairly low ?
18/21 how do you think? Thanks for your kindness |
I see that 51.5mm x 169 is the size you list for the gt2 tray but is that the overall size or is that how big of a battery can fit in the tray? If that's the overall size can you custom make a try to hold a battery as big as 160mm x 48mm and still have an integrated esc shelf?
